Service was prompt but food wasn’t great. Chicken was small and waffles were dry.

Stayed at the hotel for a week. Ate here twice. Dinner for two: ordered chicken wings, fries, and salmon dinner. Salmon dinner... was very oily. Breakfast roasted potatoes were also oily. Hot chocolate station well stocked. Muffins are available. The staffoperate more like family do it was nice having my wine and talking with them. Check hours Read more

This hotel is listed as 4 stars and at best it is 2 1/2 stars. The rugs appear worn and stained and it is quite noisy, thin... walls, etc. The staff are not very friendly nor accommodating, their attitude is one of, "It is what it is". I am here for aconference and I will be letting my employer know that this hotel is not someplace I would choose to stay, personally. Read more

It was fine. I appreciated that they had gluten free bread available but the avocado toast was over $10 for just avocado and... radish slices (even though it said lemon on the menu). The GF bread was smaller than the normal bread, so they gave me twoslices, which was nice. Read more

Double Take is a restaurant in the Kimpton Palomar hotel. We’re fans of the Kimpton brand having stayed at a number of their... hotels all over the U.S. They’re a great boutique hotel chain with benefits you get used to, such as the complimentary winehour at 5pm. We were here for brunch, far too early to take advantage of the free wine hour, but to be fair we didn’t realizewhen we picked the restaurant that it was located in a Kimpton…so walking in to the lobby was a pleasant and familiarsurprise. I had the egg sandwich choosing biscuit for the bread, with white cheddar cheese and no the sausage. It came withhash browns and a salad. The biscuit was perfectly crunchy on the outside and fine on the inside but seemed like it may havebeen reheated. (Am I the only one who has a sixth sense for when biscuits have been reheated?) It tasted good but the cheeseneeded more of a presence. The hash browns looked great. You’ll definitely salivate looking at them…They were tasty on theinside though, perhaps, a little more greasy than I wanted. There also wasn’t salt and pepper at the table which I definitelyneeded for these.. My wife had the Grain Bowl which we had to send back as it came topped with parmesan cheese…my wifedoesn’t eat dairy and the menu didn’t list parmesan as an ingredient. I’m a big fan of menus that list all the visibleingredients of a dish…so unfortunately we had to send it back to get them to redo it without it. The dish looked beautifuleither way, the mushrooms were delicious, but in the end it was very barley heavy…the other ingredients needed more of apresence to add more flavor to this dish. It definitely wasn’t busy when we were there so i guess brunch, at least on aSaturday around noon isn’t so much of a thing…but they did only have one person working there handling the coffee counterand waiting tables so service, in particular when we had to alert them about the Grain Bowl was a bit slow. On the plus sidethere’s all kinds of fun games Read more

The decor is nice, service was good (hard to come by in WW), and food/drinks were delivered at a good pace. The drinks seemed to... be subtle takes on standards. The 'Call me snake' is pretty much an old fashion, same with others. Nothing remember or special.Wine list and alcohol were a pretty good selection. Food was all good but, again, nothing remarkable or memorable. Over pricedfor what it is, by a fair bit. Also, be careful about your water selection. They did not make it remotely clear we were gettinga $9 bottled flat water. Seemed like your average Flat water or Sparking water question. Read more
