Grand Excellence from beginning to end. A smiling hostess welcomed us, and before seating us on our comfortable leather chairs,... she let us peek at the memorabilia on the lobby's shelves - old vinyls, cassette players, and salvaged treasures of a bygoneage. The dining space is airy and modern, with a colorful bar on one side and the open kitchen on the other. The service wasextremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I haven't had such quality of service since the pandemic destroyedhospitality. The food was a delicious mix of old tunes and new bites, such as the caviar cannoli or the chocolate tiramisu. Ireally liked the salmon carpaccio with its gelée, and the cacio e pepe churros. Pasta was al dente. Vegetables were crunchy andflavorful. The wine menu is vast and the sommelier is helpful. I was excited to visit Grandmaster because of its rich history and was hoping that the new restaurant would do the building?s... legacy justice. The decor was upscale yet fun, leaning into the recording studio theme and the rooftop had a nicevibe. Unfortunately, I can?t say I was super impressed with the dinner service and cocktails. Our $20 cocktails arrivedungarnished and after we called it out our server brought the garnishes over to the table and put them on our half drunkendrinks which just seemed odd. For dinner we ordered the fried olives, cauliflower, wagyu, and cavatelli which were all fine butnothing to write home about, especially for the price. Our server wasn?t super attentive and there was hardly anyone there sinceit was an earlier dinner reservation. Wasn?t the best but could just be because they?re getting their footing. Check out this dessert! A unique tiramisu. Such lovely views on the rooftop, excellent experience. A bit spendy but delicious.... Grandmaster Recorders is a must try! Located in what used to be a legendary music studio, this restaurant?s cuisine is rather... unique, Italian reimagined by an Australian chef. Umami and Asian flavors and ingredients are all over the menu. We had 3appetizers, 2 fresh homemade pastas, 2 main dishes and 2 desserts shared between 3 people and we were full. The portions areperfect size. Highly recommend the Burrata. Malfadine pasta, the Seabass and the panacotta. The dining room is comfy and open.You can also see right in the kitchen. The assistant manager of the restaurant, Jonathan was great and was super knowledgeableand will walk you through the menu. Don?t forget to also check out the rooftop bar.
