Food was so delicious! A little pricey but it was worth every penny and for a as nice reastaurant; I think prices were very... reasonable. Especially because the service was just as great, I dropped chopsticks and it was like a new set appeared outta thinair. Can?t wait to come back, everyone was just so delicious. Also if you?re a fan of the sautéed soybeans, they had the bestI?ve had so far ???????? wish I took a picture! Read more

Found among lots of touristy shops and restaurants, Gazen managed to serve up authentic Japanese izakaya fares. We only ordered... their cooked foods since their ???? didn't look all that good from other patrons. We had the sukiyaki and one of the grilledsteaks, they are both pretty good, no complaints. However, what I would go back for is the tofu sampler. This is not foreveryone, since it's straight up tofu served classic, creamy, and black sesame styled. The classic allowed the fresh soy tasteto shine thru, while the creamy style has a hint of coconut creaminess. The black sesame flavor works especially well in aclean tasting dish like cold tofu. All 3 are very enjoyable for someone who like clean healthy eating, and don't rant theirfood to drown in sodium and sauce. Read more

Did this just become my new favorite restaurant in Little Tokyo?! I enjoyed the Zabuton Beef Steak - YOU MUST TRY! It is so... tender and the sauce complements the steak so well (it?s not like the typical teriyaki sauce that?s so sweet and overpowering). The soft shell crab roll is also to die for. It only comes with 5 pieces, but trust me, it is filling. Lastly, the classic tofuwas alright. It wasn?t flavorful enough but I?ll gladly take the protein. I will most likely not order it again. I had a subpar meal, didn't feel the need to finish my bowl as I didn't savor it. It's a shame since the inside is calm and... lovely. Expect the food to come out at different times if you order more than 2 dishes and we had to ask 2 different waiters onthe drink and food we ordered, it took a long time and the portions nor flavors were not worth the price. I unfortunately do notrecommend this izakaya there are plenty in the area to choose from. Read more

Parking - Validation within parking structure on S. Central Ave or street if there's any available Came here for lunch and... definitely miss their homemade tofu. Overall their sushi sampler and sashimi bowls are always legit. Overall service wasaverage esp. since they were short staff within the kitchen. I'm happy they at least communicated and let me know. This place is a true gem in Little Tokyo. I wish they brought back some semblance of a happy hour, but that didn?t stop us from... having a fantastic time! I recommend their Japanese omelette, their wagyu / US streamed beef, and their sushi. Extensive sakeselection and Suntory Premium Malts on draft! Solid mainstay of Little Tokyo and would strongly recommend. Read more

This is a little place right outside the Little Tokyo Village. The inside is very beautiful, the outdoor space a little... run-down. But the food is delicious, tasty and thankfully not over salty. The shrimp tempura was crisp, light and airy and theshrimp colossal and pink. The edamame we got with the spicy kick to it was one of the best w had. The California Roll wasauthentic and fat sushi roll. The only thing was for us the Cali Roll was a bit expensive. Read more

They had just reopened not too long when I visited with a friend. The service was great, and the quality of food was pretty good... and delicious as well. I felt like I had spent my money's worth here. It was no surprise to me that the food prepared wassimilar to the ones I had in Japan as the chefs were Japanese if I'm not mistaken. If I'm ever in LA or Little Tokyo again, Iwould definitely visit again. Read more
