First time dining in at an Ethiopian restaurant and it did not disappoint. Prior to this, my coworkers were from Ethiopia and... brought me take out from a place in Seattle. Dining in with friends, this communal experience was fantastic. We got some coffee, and being an American, added some sugar, but the flavor, aroma, and Expresso like taste at first was very good coffee. Ourserver was extremely helpful in making sure we ordered a fine meal, avoiding duplicates as our party navigated the menu.Suggestions were also made, which were appropriate for our picky eaters. I enjoyed the lamb and vegetarian dishes, the spicesand flavors very well done. If you've never had Ethiopian food, I would definitely steer you here, and if you're looking for areal community experience, this is that space. I am looking forward to when I return. Read more

There is no better Ethiopian food in California or that I?ve had in the United States. Nothing has changed even with a Michelin... star. It?s finally been recognized for the small family business with a mother and her daughters creating incredible food. Getready for a family experience and your food being created by a family?s love for feeding those that come to their table. Read more

My first time trying Ethiopian food. My cousin is a vegetarian so this was a wonderful meal but since I mainly tried the veggie... utopia, I wished I ordered a more meatier option. The veggie utopia was aesthetically pleasing and also quite tasty especiallytheir lentils and carrot potatoes. The street gets busy and parking can be quite hard to find. Read more

I decided to try Lalibela since my usual spot, Meals by Genet was still doing takeout only. There was no wait on a Friday... evening, the house made Tej was surprisingly stronger than it tasted (delicious!), and we got to try the raw beef Kifto, whichwas good as well. We left happy, with delicious leftovers to enjoy later. I've heard about the coffee ceremony in other reviews- there was no clear price for it on the menu but I'd be interested in trying it sometime! My new favorite place in Little Ethiopia! The vegan sampler is excellent; simply has more flavor than the other spots and I've... tried most of them. Plus you can get tofu tibs! Literally have never seen this on a menu outside of this spot, and it'sdelicious. *they have impossible meat now and use it to make kitfo!!* Read more

Lalibela is my favorite place to get Ethiopian food. It?s fresh, the flavors and spice levels are on point, and the atmosphere... is very cozy and intimate. I?ve been here a dozen or more times and it never gets old. They have something for everyone, meateaters and veggies/vegans. Whether you eat meat or not, you should definitely try the veggie utopia platter. It?s great for twopeople, and allows you to sample an array of options they have. The lamb and beef tibs are also very delicious. Perfect spot fora date, or with a group of friends! Read more
