Amazing this restaurant has been serving food since 1927! Great casual French food at affordable prices. We had the frogs legs,... steak, and roast chicken. All were delicious! Service was wonderful as well. Definitely recommend. Read more

Even for a historical venue, they still have a delicious menu for any occasion. Be it for a date night, birthday, or just being... in the mood for simple French Cuisine with a lovely setting ; it's your choice. I forgot the name of the lovely waitress but shemade it more pleasant and enjoyable for a birthday celebration, and the small things goes along way Read more

Founded in 1927 Taix is still going strong today. We chose to sit in the quieter dining area instead of the more lively bar... area. The dishes served are somewhere between family style and single serving. We ordered one appetizer and two entrees and weresatisfied sharing all of them. The mussels were fresh and flavored well as was the paella we ordered. The steak was charred onthe outside more than I would have preferred. 4 stars because of the steak but otherwise a nice experience. Read more

Family owned and founded in 1927 it?s been serving LA diners for generations. I would classify it as a bistro style and is... certainly more casual and less expensive than many of the other French restaurants close by. While dining I overheard that thereare plans to buy this current location by a developer to add housing and would most likely happen this year or next but I amunsure if that is true or not. They have a giant parking lot to the side and behind of the restaurant so parking is never aproblem. The restaurant interior (also the street facing exterior) could use some sprucing up though as it looks like it hasbeen opened for as long as it is. I started off with the French Onion soup and it was honestly really good. It was done in theclassic style and I would definitely order it again. For my entrée I chose the Short Ribs and they were pretty good. I likedhow tender the meat was and the addition of pearl onions was a bonus. It was a very hearty meal and would be especially good forcold weather. Overall I would recommend it to any fan of French food or anyone looking for a nice casual meal. It is not ananniversary, birthday, or important work dinner location however. Really hope I am incorrect that they will be closing thislocation because I plan to visit again and even if they move I will certainly try that new location as well. Read more

Overall, we had such a great time dining there! The food was delicious and the service was superb. Our waiter was super friendly... and attentive (we forgot his name, but he wore a beret). We tried their escargot, which was to die for! We also had their lambchop and steak and they were cooked perfectly! Read more
