We wanted to like this spot, we really did, but it was just terrible. We both could not finish our meals. My wife ordered the... garlic noodles with "filet mignon". The reason for the quotations - there is NO way that meat was filet mignon. It was grey, overcooked and chewy cuts of steak which honestly resembled dog food. Meanwhile the garlic noodles were slathered in oil makingthem also largely inededible. For a $22 dish, unacceptable. My meal, the Lu Rou Fan was not any better. It resembled a soupmore than a rice dish and the pork belly was somehow simultaneously slimy and chewy. Altogether with tip, our to-go order was$50 and it ended up in the garbage. Read more

The food was mediocre. Overcooked chicken with little meat on it; spicy noodles with no spice. The service was ATROCIOUS. He... could barely be bothered to seat us, chastised me for picking up my own menus, and refused to clean the dirty tables so we couldsit at one. Those tables stayed dirty through our entire visit, even though he had plenty of time to clean them. There was onlyone other occupied table but we were only checked on once, briefly. If the food had been better we might consider doing takeoutin the future but we will NEVER dine in here again. Read more

Had some good flavors, but overall the food was very disappointing. Pork Belly Banh Mi was on a soft roll rather than french... bread, which gave the whole sandwich a spongy texture. The cilantro was wilted brown and all stem, and there weren't enoughvegetables to give the sandwich the fresh crunch you expect from a Banh Mi. To add insult to injury, the fries on the side weresoggy and undercooked. I am adding an extra star for the popcorn chicken from the Beach Please platter, it was almost as goodas Nguyen's Kitchen. The short ribs and sambal wing were good enough to buy again, but not something I'd go out of my way for.No one wanted to try the slaw. Read more

I?ve had this restaurant on my bookmarks for a minute now and unfortunately it fell a little short. We came in on a Monday... early evening and the place was empty. We were seated right away but I could tell they were sort of inundated with online ordersbecause our server was running in circles without anyone else there. We came at the tail end of happy hour and I just wanted totry their sort of sampler plate and asked what the happy hour specials were (since they don?t hand you a happy hour menu and thesign was on the other side of the wall). Our server responded with something along the times of ?uh I don?t know we only havelike 2 beers right now and I think fries or something are cheaper.? Fine, okay, sure. We ended up ordering the garlic Parmesanfries, the Beach please sampler, bo luc lac, Hainan chicken rice, and the mee goreng. The fries came first and somehow tastedold? Like maybe they had been sitting? There was some sort of dry shredded Parmesan and very little garlic on lukewarm fries. Our server dropped them at our table without telling us what the sauces were and ran back to filling online orders which welater found out were supposed to be a ketchup and chipotle aioli? Or something? All I can say is the aioli did NOT taste likeany aioli I?ve ever had; unfortunately not in a good way. Next came the hainan chicken which I will say was great. The garlicrice was on point and the ginger and sauces all combined with the chicken really hot the spot. Then the lackluster beach pleaseplatter. Myself, a self admitting indecisive human, love when places have plated like these. You mean I get to try all the stuffand don?t have to choose!? Sign me up. The bad part is when most of the things aren?t good. We once again got some questionableaioli with slaw, wings, garlic noodles, popcorn chicken, and pork belly. Once again the noodles somehow managed to taste likethey?d been sitting out for a while. The popcorn chicken was dry as a bone which is ironic beca Read more
