First time at this restaurant and it is beautiful!! The restaurant had just opened, I ordered a burrito. The service and speed... of the food preparation was great. Staff was friendly and inviting. I ordered a pick-up order yesterday for lunch, and it went great! I was able to easily place an order on my phone. When I... arrived, the valet attendant pointed to the pick-up-only parking, so I didn't have to pay for parking. I was worried about theparking because you do have to park in the mall parking structure. So that was a plus! When I placed the order, it said it wouldbe ready by 2:05p. I arrived at 2:00p, and it was ready to go! Easy peasy. I ordered a taco salad and a Tocaya salad. Both weredelicious! The only drawback was the packaging. When I order food from the Tocaya in El Segundo, the salads are in to-go bowls.But here, they were brown boxes. It kind of turns you off for a sec, but maybe they just ran out. I can't believe the horrible service I got here. I came with my girlfriend and parents on Tuesday around 9, and we all got tacos... and sides. The food came out fine, but one of the tacos my girlfriend ordered didn't include the meat substitution we ordered(vegan chicken instead of mushrooms). This is fine, everyone makes mistakes, but asking for a replacement ended up becoming agiant task. First she denied that we made the replacement until we showed them the receipt in her email. Then she said that sheisn't able to replace the protein in the Tierra taco, which is strange, but then she refused to make any other taco with theprotein we ordered. We asked to talk to the supervisor, and she was not apologetic at all but at least agreed to make us anothertaco (which we never got). The original waitress then came and claimed that she gave brought another plate for free, which wouldhave made us happy, but she only brought us what we paid for and did not give us anything for free, which was just a bizarre andconfusing experience. We waited about 15 minutes for this replacement taco that never came while they were mostly idle, andeventually we had to leave. We asked in the end how long the taco would take, and the supervisor said that it would be another10 minutes, so we just decided to go. I'm not sure why they put up such a fight about making a $2 taco the way that it wasordered, but it definitely put me off from ever coming back to this location. I've never been made to feel so unwelcome over amistake that a restaurant made, it was not appreciated at all. Read more
