If you want a real Southern breakfast experience, with great service, then this is the place to go! It's not huge so it can get... busy at weekends, prepare to queue. But it's worth it! The menu is massive, with everything you could think of ordering, pluslots of unusual dishes (check out the fried chicken waffles). The portion size is huge, and the food was delicious. Great food. Service was quick all the food was delicious, served hot and quick. The chicken & waffles was great, the Los Gatos... "Lu" was even better (homemade biscuits, fried chicken & country gravy). We will definitely be coming back to try out some more. Read more
This cute little place situated in a corner of a building in downtown Los Gatos has some mouth watering breakfast and lunch... menu. On a Sunday afternoon, the wait was quite long but was well worth the tasty and delicious signature shrimp & grits and theSanta Fe Scramble we ordered with the outdoor seating. The corn bread was very tasty!. The ice tea was a good accompaniment. Ourwaitress Debbie fondly addressed by the kitchen staff as ?Mama?, was very friendly and took care of us well. Good outdoor seating. Indoor seats available, but ventilation needs to be updated, smelled very greasy. The mushrooms avocado... omelette was good, unfortunately, the hash brown was very disappointing. The french toast also was not up to par. Service wasgood. Read more
This iconic Los Gatos coffee shop has been serving classic American fare for nearly 30 years. Now owned by a former employee,... the food seems as good ? if not better ? than ever. The extensive breakfast menu has all the classics (eggs, omelettes, Frenchtoast, pancakes, etc.) plus several Southern style specialty items (chicken fried waffles, shrimp and grits). Ditto for lunch,which includes everything from sandwiches and burgers to salads and fried chicken. They also serve weekend brunch but they?renot open for dinner. I met three friends for breakfast and we were lucky enough to grab one of the few outdoor tables for four.Unfortunately, it was on the narrow sidewalk instead of the new ?parklet? out front so it felt a bit cramped, especially whenpeople were walking by or gathering at the door. My Belgian waffle was cooked just right. When topped with a generous cup offresh strawberries, blueberries, and pineapple (included) and a bit of syrup, it tasted great. I wish I?d told them to make myside order of bacon extra crispy, because it seemed a bit undercooked. My friends ordered a mushroom omelette with hash brownsand toast, traditional Mexican Huevos Rancheros, and a taco salad (from the lunch menu), and everyone said that they enjoyedtheir meals. Service was friendly but responsiveness was average at best. The bill for four came to just over $100 includingtax, tip, and a 3% credit card surcharge. With the exception of the limp bacon (ten bucks for four slices!) I think that ourmeals were a good value for the quantity and quality of food. Read more
