Love the food, wine,staff and quite setting. Relaxing.
I was disappointed on our second visit. They ran out of filet mignon on a Friday night and offered us a NY strip instead.... Unfortunately, we had to send it back because it was not tasty and hard to chew. It was my husband's birthday and I did informthem ahead of time but nothing special was done for him. A couple of good notes, the 1629 wine was tasty and the atmosphere wasbeautiful. At this price point, food should be top notch along with the service. When someone is celebrating something special,make them feel special and you will have your customers return. Read more
Beautiful and relaxing atmosphere with good wine, however the food at the 629 restaurant was bland and downright horrible. My... shrimp cocktail was dried out and tasteless and I ordered bree with gluten-free crackers instead of the regular bread it comeswith. The gluten-free crackers were stale and the bree was just a lump of cheese in a bowl. My husband's pizza was on the smallside and the food was over priced. We'll go back for the wine and atmosphere but not the food at the restaurant. Read more
Beautiful place, good service, but non-existent vegetarian options, other than pizza, salad, and desert (same ones repeatedly).... Until the chef starts doing homework and figures out how to create a variety of veggie entrées, I feel like my year-long 1629membership is a waste (other than helping to support a local winery). Really, they should up their game with the menus, and thenwe'd have a gem to be treasured. Moved over to Sheehan's wine club, where we're treated with excellent wine-and-cheese tastingswithout the needlessly posh ambience. Read more
