All I can say is that this is one of the most beautiful places we’ve been to. Views where amazing, food was amazing and the... staff where great! This place has the nicest most welcoming environment and needless to say we shall be returning. The best partof our stay there was that the owner allowed me propose there and helped us celebrate it which was really nice and made it evenmore special. Our first visit to The Guesthouse was wonderful! We stayed in the Hobson Cabin, top floor. Gary and all staff were so welcoming... and friendly, helping us to feel right at home. The views are gorgeous, and there is plenty to do on the property withoutneeding to leave if you so choose. We played pool, watched a movie in the TV room, steamed in the sauna and overall just enjoyedthe picturesque views The Guesthouse has to offer! Other guests we met were all very nice and welcoming as well, chatting andsharing things to do in the area. We hardly ran into people outside of the bar and restaurant area, which made it almost feellike we had the place to ourselves. The very best part is that my amazing boyfriend became my fiancé on the balcony overlookingthe perfect mountain views! Gary was super excited for us and helped us celebrate well. What's not to love about our favorite mountain retreat? Gary and Jesse are the consummate hosts, the staff is consistently... delightful. We're always excited to see the latest updates and renovations. We stayed in Guesthouse, room 1 this visit. Theguys have been busy refreshing this room with modern touches like sleek tile in the bathroom, new furnishings, and fresh paintand carpet all while keeping the rustic feel you'd expect in the WV mountains. The restaurant rivals any you might visit inmajor cities. The menu has a variety of dishes for all tastes from perfectly done steak to a roasted cauliflower steak. The staff, accommodations, restaurant and surroundings could not be better. This is the perfect getaway spot in the mid-Atlantic... region. I love it! We thoroughly enjoyed a weekend getaway at Guesthouse! From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted and given a tour of the... multiple spaces/amenities available to us. The rooms were clean and nicely upgraded. The photos with this review show Guestroom1, which had a prime location on the property: GORGEOUS mountain views and near the guesthouse so it was easy to get tobreakfast, drinks from the bar, dinner, the pool, everything. There are tons of hiking trails in the area, literally just a fewminutes away. The property is definitely off the beaten path and in more treacherous weather, an AWD vehicle would probably beneeded. On the topic of vehicles, we drove our EV to Guesthouse and needed to charge. The owners allowed us to plug in to a walloutlet (there is not Level 2 charging at this time). The pool and pool bar were the place to be! Emily at the bar was supercool and made us great drinks. I was a big fan of the Purple Rain and of course the Aperol Spritz. They also had drinks servedin small buckets which were popular. Guesthouse had amazing live entertainment both nights we were there. One night was a localpainter who created a piece from start to finish (think Bob Ross). The other night there was a musician who played guitar andsang. UPDATE: 4 years later, still the best of the best! This is a MUST for anyone's vacation or dining options. This was our first... time visiting and, after less than 24hrs into our stay, we'd already booked our next visit! The owners are incredible,embodying the true spirit of hospitality. The cabin we stayed at was large, very comfortable, and clean with great views fromthe balcony. The lodge has a ton of cozy nooks and seating areas with fireplaces and a pool table, and the pool is spectacularwith a connected hot tub. The restaurant serves deliciously inventive meals and the signature cocktails are expertlycrafted. We can't wait to return to our new favorite destination to hang out at the pool and sip tasty cocktails on the patiounder the stars! Read more

Had an absolutely lovely time at the resort during the 4th of July weekend. Gary and Jesse are amazing hosts and the resort is... absolutely beautiful. It is perfectly secluded so it's a great place if you're looking to REALLY get away from civilization. Thefood every night was so good, although the steak was a little overcooked and we did need to let our hosts know, unfortunately.That being said, there were new specials every night, with lots of vegan and gluten-free options if that's your thing. Thedrinks were also great and many of the cocktails were signature and they also change with the season. The atmosphere is great,the pool hours are generous and there is a poolside bar and there were so many other wonderful amenities like two game/socialrooms, a 24 hour gym, and an indoor hot tub. Breakfast was also served family style every morning and it was absolutelydelicious. Gary and Jesse even baked a cake for a member of our party because it was his birthday and it was enormous and alovely gesture.
