Went in the early afternoon with reservations and got right in. Wasn't busy at 1:30. Waitress was very pleasent and familiar... with the castle and surrounding grounds although a bit lacking in attentiveness. The lobster bisque and Bier fries were verygood as was the mixed drink and walnut pie.The schnitzel sandwich was edible but a bit thin, dry, chewy, overcooked and couldhave used more sauce! Read more

Just oK. This was a surprise trip to the Castle (reviewed separately) for my husband for our Halloversary - celebrating. when we... met 23 years ago! ;) - We had a reservation at 5 at The Copper Mug, but went in early because ewe arrived on property early. They greeted us warmly and seated us right away in a booth. - DRINKS: The fall themed drinks were delicious! (hence the photo) Ihighly recommend the Butterscotch Mocha, it was so creamy and sweet- my Favorite item and created by our server Cassie!! <3 -FOOD: We we’re starving having skipped lunch and driving a couple hours. Ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese & French Onion Soupas apps. Soup was not hot.. flavor was great though so I ate it without complaint. :) The Mac & cheese was so dry we could noteat it, and sent it back. It didn’t seem to have any cheese…? My husband got the Prime Rib with a baked potato and I got theShort Ribs. Again my was warm, not hot, especially the potatoes- but like I said we were hungry and the flavor was delicious! They had a bout 4 tables total, all arrived after us, so it was not busy, no reason for the kitchen to rush. Although, there wasa wedding that evening, so perhaps their focus was there? - All in all an ok experience. Server was good, food flavor was great.Skipped dessert and headed to the Reformatory Haunted House later! Read more

We didn’t know this place existed and literally happened upon it while we spontaneously decided to drive the Amish Bypass. We... were literally driving through dirt roads when we came upon Landoll’s Mohican Castle, of which the Copper Mug is a part of. Itwas so worth the adventurous trip it took us to find it. Not only are the surroundings beautiful (we ate outside), but ourwaiter was so nice and cheerful. Best of all the food was SUPERB, first class! I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed ameal out so much. Read more

Restaurant at Landoll’s Mohican castle. The inside is so cool, lots of antique memorabilia collected by the founder. Love the... vibe of it, really feels like an old European pub. The food was great got fish and chips and lobster bisque. Has a patio for thesummertime and a small bar inside. We didn’t stay at the hotel, just came to have a look around but it was very nice to walkaround and explore! Cool building the castle is Read more

So while we were here down in Mohican we stopped at the castle on at a pretty cool restaurant called the copper mug. It's... dedicated to the founder and his life on how he built the castle in mohican. This evening me and my lady had dinner withschnitzel asparagus brussel sprouts lobster bisque and bruschetta. Thank you so much for awesome evening even though the kitchenwas swamped from the event prior to us getting there Read more

My wife and I decided to take my mother to The Copper Mug for her birthday on March 13. Upon entering, there was no host or... hostess greeting and seating guests. One did arrive after a minute or two, however, and sat us. Two of us ordered soup, andmine was brought out 10 minutes before my mom's and was lukewarm. When hers was served, it was cold. The soups were servedwith a spoon, but we were not provided with napkins or utensils until we asked. The salads were large portions, contained freshingredients and were flavorful, but not all of our entrees were served at the same time. We ordered desserts, but our table wasnot cleared beforehand and we had to place our used dishes on a nearby table ourselves. My biegnets were warm, delicious andbeautifully garnished with chocolate sauce and fresh whipped cream. My guest's Toll House pie was served cold (they expectedwarmed) and as such, was hard and crumbly. I am sure our server meant well, but we were not well attended to, drinks were nottopped up as they became empty and there was odd spacing between when each of us were served. Improvements might include beingmore attentive to guests, using a tray to bring out soups and entrees so that they are served at the same time and clearing thetable between courses. All in all, a cute and unique restaurant in a picturesque setting, but the service, temperature andoverall experience left a lot to be desired. Read more

The Copper Mug is located on Mohican Castle grounds and is the most convenient dining if you’re staying in one of their rooms... or cottages. This was our second annual Landoll’s stay and we were very much looking forward to dining at the Copper Mugagain. First off, the staff is super friendly and we had the pleasure of being served by Roger who was not only a terrificserver but an absolute sweetheart. Secondly their fall cocktail menu offerings are so enticing I had to order one of each andnone of them were disappointing. The Spiced Pear was my favorite, it was light and delicious. The Caramel Apple Martini was aclose second but it’s more on the heavy side and closer to a dessert than a light cocktail. If you’re going to order anappetizer, go with the stuffed mushrooms. We had them during our first stay last year and they were so memorable and deliciouswe couldn’t wait to order them again this time around. I personally had the short ribs with a side of lobster mac and cheese.I wasn’t blown away by any means by the short ribs and I could barely tell there was any lobster in my Mac and cheese. I wouldsuggest ordering something different. My friend had the schnitzel and was very pleased. They also give you complimentary breadwith butter and their signature jam and those are also delicious. After our meal we were stuffed, puffed and happy. Read more

I came to stay at the castle on a solo trip and decided to have dinner at the Copper Mug. Austin was my server and he was... wonderful and very attentive. I had the French onion soup and the Filet and Shrimp. The bread and jam was a pleasant starter tothe meal. Quiet and comfortable within a great walking distance of my room. It was a lovely meal, I’ll definitely be back. Read more
