I love META, and it is HANDS DOWN the best bar in Louisville. In terms of offerings and ambiance, there is no better of a bar to... visit than META, and the prices are more than reasonable for being in a saturated area. My only criticism is that I do notalways feel welcome. While I do understand that as a guest, I should not determine how the bartenders interact with guests, itfeels often times that they are less than happy to serve the less-common classics and sometimes I leave feeling that theexperience would have been better if I had been served with slightly more enthusiasm. Generally, cocktail culture is the productof consumers who are interested in the overarching cannon of cocktails and their history, and for me, META misses this mark bynot promoting customers to feel free to ask for what they want. Asking me if I would rather have something else because a bottleis on a high shelf and requires a step stool to be brought up feels a bit juvenile and makes me feel unappreciated as a payingguest. Super creative drinks and Natalie was a great bartender! The names of the cocktails are cleverly funny and the ingredients are... creative and very tasty. The bar itself is smallish (in a good, cozy-feel way) and has a cool history of past tenants. Loved theNightshade and look forward to trying more of their creations. Read more
Super cool and friendly vibes! Nice cocktail and specialty shot menu. I hate when you order a spicy drink and it's not spicy.... Not here. I ordered the Versita and it is refreshing with a kick in the face. Booyah! DJ playing chill music on Saturday night. Read more
This bar is my absolute favorite, the entire staff is lovely. Natalie and Steve are always super friendly and Niel makes the... best daquari I?ve ever had. Bit of a dive, but I'm OK if the alcohol is good... And it is. Whhhaaaayyyy more reasonably priced than the Hilton bar around... the corner, but also fewer sought after bottles. If it's cocktails or just to try a neat shot of something you've never had, Iwould recommend. Read more

It was a unique bar that I was introduced to while on a bartender retreat. It had so many cool factors from the ambiance to the... staff. I enjoyed the bartenders as they were knowledgeable and ready to get their hands dirty if you couldn't find something onthe menu.
