I have been going to this place for years now. Unfortunately over the last few years of COVID, you can tell it's not the best it... used to be. The food was good. It had been about a year since we had been here. Now the menus has changed. Everything is a la carte. No... longer is there dinner combo options. This makes it very expensive. We had a great lunch in this restaurant. We tried the steak kabab. It was a little pricey compared to other food items, but it... was well worth it. I'm glad to dine in instead of taking out; the temperature loss might lessen the flavor. I wished I hadrice on the side instead of pita. It is a fast-food-themed place. The presentation of the food was not great. Try eating a nicesteak with a flimsy plastic fork and knife. This was our first visit to this restaurant. I got take out for 5. The person working the counter was very friendly and helped... guide me through the menu choices. He also answered questions on food allergies and was able to accommodate peanut allergies.Everyone enjoyed their choices. The food was well prepared, and good portion sizes. This is a wonderful Mediterranean/ Persian restaurant! I?m always on the look out for an ?authentic? Greek salad and chicken... shawarma. My chicken kabob with Greek side salad was excellent. Freshly prepared just as I ordered with qualityingredients. Smiles and a welcome atmosphere abound. The cashier was friendly and helpful. The owner was also present. Edit: if you order online make sure the site is secure. I have tried on both iphone and android and both scream unsafe and not... secure. I brought this to the attention of a staff member and she photographed what my phone said. That was several months agoand site is still not secured. Just be aware. Otherwise, the food here is amazing. My current favorite is the eggplant dish. Myson loves the chicken kabob. I am a vegetarian but there have been brief moments in time where I have eaten chicken and fish.Both are cooked to perfection at Shiraz. They prove in their food when they cook it I believe... the food is also reputablesourced and the chicken is not pumped full of hormones and antibiotics which meat eaters ingest and take into their systems. Thedecor at the restaurant on Bardstown road also is colorful, tasteful and very well done. My critic is that they need to DITCHthe styrofoam and use of plastic straws.
