We were welcomed by a very friendly hostess. No reservation, but after a drink at the bar they had a table ready for us. The... Italian food we ordered was really good, one of the best pasta dishes I've had so far in the USA. Silvio, the owner, came overto make sure everything was satisfactory and talked to us for a while. He is a very friendly person. His pink outfit tied it alltogether. Service was swift and friendly. Read more

The restaurant is in a good location but there is limited parking. We were greeted immediately by the hostess. Although we did... not have a reservation, she found a table for us by the window. Our waiter arrived almost immediately and pointed out thespecials for dinner. My wife and I ordered one of the specials, Chilean sea bass, and split it. There is a charge of $4 to splita plate. The sea bass was cooked perfectly and was scrumptious. However, the complimentary bread was burnt (see picture) at thebottom. A restaurant of this caliber should not have served this bread. This is the best Italian restaurant in Louisville and Kentucky! It?s a family owned restaurant and feels more like eating at a... friends house than a restaurant. Their bar is small and well stocked. Be sure to ask for Pappy Van Winkle! Debbie makes greatcocktails at the bar and the food is exceptional and fairly priced. Bill, the owner, is a lovely person to talk to? Read more

Finally made it to Silvio?s! First of all, the service was absolutely impeccable. It was a very busy Friday night, but we were... still very well taken care of. Our server, Ryan, was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Silvio came out to check on usmultiple times throughout our meal, and as visited every other table as well. Second, the food. ????All the food. There?scomplimentary bread which was quite good. We started with antipasto and it was a perfect starter. My guy had a Caesar salad andI had a grilled romaine salad. Both were phenomenal. For our main course, I had the aglio e olio with shrimp, which was aperfect savory blend of garlic and red pepper spice. He got the special, which was actually a grilled ribeye topped with grilledonions and mushrooms, garlic whipped potatoes and grilled corn on the cob. Silvio said ?I don?t do steaks, but my chef wanted todo ribeye, so I did.? And it was delicious! The special also came with an espresso crème brûlée that was to die for. We hadespresso to drink with dessert as well. Long story short, recommend this hidden gem in the heart of Saint Matthew?s. Make areservation, it was packed and Silvio said it?s normally even more busy than tonight. Read more
