I want to explain why 3 stars: the food is great, it’s a 5 stars. Delicious. But we order 2 entrees, and we needed to wait 30... min to get the dinner served after those, so we were almost not hungry anymore. I ask the server why, and he said they werebusy. Restaurant was far to be crowd, so… that messed up our dinner. Server was friendly. Thai tea is awesome. Loved it.I’ll come back, but straight to principal dish, just in case. Read more
Only my second time at this location, but I was pretty disappointed. I've been a big Simply Thai fan since they were in a tiny... building in St. Matthews, but this just didn't stack up. Drinks were ok, but overpriced. Food was super inconsistent. Mypartner and I both ordered pad thai and both dishes came out vastly different. Mine was sour with no heat (ordered a 3 onspice). Partners was a little closer to correct flavor-wise (but missing that signature Simply Thai sweetness) but came out toospicy (she ordered a 2). Our waitress was very nice, but the service was INCREDIBLY slow. It took close to 30 minutes to evenget our drink order out. I thought things would speed up after that, but it did not. Appetizers took even longer (waitresssaid 'someone accidentally took' our order and they had to re-order). If this had been my first time at Simply Thai I don'tthink I would give them another go. I ordered takeout on a Tuesday night. The pad Thai was watery and not at all spicy when I asked for a level 3 out of 5. My... husband asked for a 5/5 (which is supposed to be “Thai spicy”) on his Green Curry Fried Rice and it was also incrediblybland. Believe me when I say that black pepper is spicier than his meal. For real. I’ve gone to Simply Thai dozens of timesand have recommended the place to many friends and family. The last few visits have been disappointing and underwhelming. I hate leaving low star reviews, but I would be lying if I said I thought this place was good. It’s very nicely decorated... inside; which I believe it was just recently renovated? The food unfortunately does not match the interior… I knew when thewaitress was bringing our food and I saw the enormous plate of fried rice, that it was going to be incredibly average & bland. Iwill say that the pad Thai was a lot better, but I still have tasted better Pad Thai elsewhere. Good service though. Ourwaitress was sweet. Read more
The food is delicious (my group had level 4 pad Thai with chicken--pictured, level 3 pad Thai with tofu, and loaded rice with... beef), portions are generous, staff is polite. If you really like spicy food, get at least level 4. Level 3 is pretty mild forme. I'd call this a 4.5 rather than a 4 star rating. The only criticism I have is that it took a really long time to get ourfood, without communication from staff. We got a similar complaint from a coworker at another table and we watched several othertables get their food even though they ordered well after us. It wouldn't have been a big deal but we were between meetings atwork and had to rush. I wouldn't let it stop me from going back and will add a 5th star if they are more timely (or at leastmore communicative) next time. Read more
I've been there twice and yet I have the same complaint. I ask then for double egg and I see there is no egg in the fried rice I... ordered. In addition I felt 4/5 was not spicy earlier and I asked for 5/5 this time and specially mentioned to have it spicy butno change. Absolute waste of money. Arrived at restaurant around 6:30 PM. We were told that there was a 30 minute wait. We decided to wait and were seated in just... 15 minutes. We felt that was exceeding expectations. Server was friendly and most helpful in our decisions for our entrees. Heexplained the levels of spiciness of the foods very well. I ordered the Pad Kee Mow with beef. Since this was only my secondvisit to a Thai restaurant, I chose the entree to have only mild heat. It was a good choice. I wouldn't have liked it hotter. It took awhile for our food to come to the table, but we decided to visit with our family during that time. Overall, the serviceand food was good. I felt that it was priced well. So, my second experience at a Thai Restaurant was a good one. Read more
Great staff, excellent food. Be careful how much thai chili you add.
