The Silly Little Axe is in a very cute building. It?s store front all though a little quiet because it?s not as busy as the... other restaurants around it, is inviting, clean and well advertised. There is inside and outside dinning. You place your orderat the counter and then they bring your food to the table. The employees are very friendly. The food came in a reasonableamount of time. Everything was delicious. Our order consisted of: axe hamburger (fresh bun was delicious and it didn?t fallapart, the meat tasted like a fresh patty not frozen and it was served with lettuce and tomato); fried chicken and waffle (thechicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, the sauce was on point and the waffle was also very good. It neverfell apart.); jerk chicken wrap (it was fried chicken in the jerk sauce wrapped in a tortilla. All three meals ordered had usall loving every bight. The presentation of the food is casual. But the flavors will positively surprise you. We were happywe made the trip over to this place from Louisville. Will return and suggest it to others. Read more

My husband and I are from Indy but wanted a quick weekend away. We decided to spend some time in Louisville. I?ve been gluten... free for six years and love when we find a fun place to try - especially when everything is gluten free! We ended up at TheSilly Axe Cafe not once on our visit?but twice! We stopped once to snack/get dessert and then had to go back a second time for ameal. Their special at the time was pretzel bites and I cannot tell you how stoked I was for that. I used to LOVE the pretzelplace at the mall. So getting gf pretzel bites seriously made my whole weekend - yes really. Loved the vibes and the hustle andbustle of everyone back in the kitchen working to crank out the good eats. Place was hopping with others also enjoying lunch orpicking up treats. We parked behind the restaurant (it?s free parking) and entered from the back. Nice setup. Accessible fromboth the front and back of this fun spot. Will definitely be back the next time we visit Louisville or on our way through town! Read more

Our first visit to Silly Axe. The chef/owner helped us with vegan/veg options. The ?The Fun Guy? wrap was quite tasty. Cider on... tap was quite a treat. Quiet atmosphere and excellent service. We will be back! Read more

It?s very disheartening that this place has such great potential but is always underwhelming. I am never one to complain or make... a bad review unless it?s warranted. I understand they were understaffed, but the service all 5 times I?ve been wasn?t good. Noone is friendly, the cashier always has to ask questions to someone in the kitchen (different cashiers) because they frequentlyrun out of things and the food isn?t worth the price. I only got a couple of pictures this time but I paid for a fish dinnerthat was $19 after tax and it was very greasy, and if we hadn?t waited 35 minutes for our food, I wouldn?t have eaten it. Therewasn?t anyone there a full 15 minutes after we ordered and it still took that long. After we were there and got our food, acouple families came in and wanted to move tables to sit together, and asked nicely. The person asked said ?whatever? and walkedoff. My fiancé and I ordered from the bar and I asked what a certain beer was like and they said they didn?t know because theydon?t drink them. This is the only fully gluten free restaurant in town and with someone with an autoimmune disorder I had highhopes. So much so that I?ve tried it multiple times thinking it was just flukes but it?s every time. Read more

Some of the best gluten free food and service I've ever had! We stopped by for brunch on a roadtrip and all 5 of us loved our... meals! We even got some treats and fried chicken to go. The chicken and waffles was phenomenal! We will absolutely be back againand next time we'll try the large selection of gluten free beers and fish fry. Wish we could get a Silly Axe Cafe in Wisconsin! So nice to have this option for dining. I have no dietary issues but my partner does. I was happy to tag along and give this... place a try. I had The Fun Guy which is a portobello based sandwich. It was very tasty and filling, yet I struggle with thetexture of the bread, it tasted okay but kinda crumbled like cornbread. My partner devoured the chicken and waffle sandwich. Heloved it, and I tasted the waffle and found it surprisingly good. We shared the carrot cake and it disappeared in a mere minuteor two. Yum! We also got lasagna to go so we won't have to drive the hour to sample something else. Nice staff, and located in afun area of the Highlands. Read more

A Gluten Free Paradise! Everything in this restaurant is celiac safe and has delicious food even for those who do not eat gluten... free. I had the chicken and waffle sandwich and it was fantastic! Gluten free food usually has an odd texture but this placehas it right. This is a great place to stop in for lunch, it is not too expensive especially for it all being gluten free. Thedonuts were delicious, the only thing that fell a bit short was the cherry pie. Read more
