Got their lunch special(hot brown) with a Ceaser Salad. While I did order over the phone for a pick up, the entree dish was ice... cold. The salad wasnt half bad. Decent home made dressing fresh greens. Added some photos because this place is one of thosejoints where you're paying for the ambiance. Read more

Just ate here for the first time, and my impression is that this place is a real gem. Tried several items from the menu and... everything was excellent--absolutely exceeding expectations on every single front. Fried fish was some of the best I've everhad, period. Meatloaf burger was extremely savoury. My goal is to return and try more items on the menu--I will update my reviewwhenever possible. -- Enjoyed our third visit and wanted to say that everything here has always been flawless. Even the simpleside salad was one of the most generous and flavorful that I've ever had. The flavors are always so good that you can't wait foranother bite. Read more

Had reservations at 6:30 on Saturday and were immediately seated. The food was spectacular. Got a beer on tap and a few mixed... drinks. All were well made/poured. Only qualm, was that our server forgot a drink and we didn’t see her for over 15 mins. Shesaid she’d get it and then take it off the tab. But she didn’t. I paid it anyway, cause I’m not going to fuss over onedrink. Other than that, decent experience. Read more

This was our first visit to this The Village Anchor, and I will say it's a little gem in the Anchorage area of Louisville. The... atmosphere was warm and cozy (they have a large fireplace in the main area which was blazing on this chilly day but also outdoordining for better weather), and the bar area was very nice and well stocked. Our server was efficient and friendly. But the mainthing was the food which was outstanding! Our brunch menu was varied, and based on our choices, I would recommend the Brusselsprout salad and their banana pudding dessert. By the way, there is a scenic park close to the cafe where you might want to walkoff some calories after eating at this local restaurant! Read more

Disappointed. As a foodie I expect a certain level of flavor and quality. Avoid the Brussel sprouts salad. Poor flavors. Avoid... the Fried chicken, mashed potatoes were good. Asparagus missing flavor also. Get the pork chop entrée. Wontons were poorquality. Fried green tomatoes had no flavor. Sad to post this, was excited for a great meal. Read more

This was our first time here and I must say it won't be our last. We made reservations for our anniversary dinner and it was... more than we expected. To be honest I'm a bit ashamed, because between the friendly hosts, waiters and the chef. I can'tremember everyone's names. This place is very cozy and warm especially if you're able to get a seat by the fireplace. Thank youVillage Anchor for making sure our night was memorable and special. Read more

Wow this place was great! From the ambience to the presentation and the taste! The brown sugar old fashion was absolutely in the... top 3 old fashions I've had dining out! The presentation of the pork chop was fantastic using color and height, not to mentionhow tender, well cooked and delicious it was! The sides were sweet potatoes and asparagus with micro greens and a wonderful demiglaze! The Mrs had the scallops with a Mushroom risotto and a side of Brussel Sprouts. She choose the Anchorade to wash it downwhich basically was a four roses bourbon with lemonade, she loved it! To top it off, since we were celebrating my Birthday weenjoyed the complimentary Chocolate peanut butter silk pie which was absolutely fantastic!! Read more
