Wow! The quality of a good good meal gone down the drain. I remember when this was cafe Magnolia. My family and I returned to... louisville and I wanted to show them the Galt house hotel and eat at the restaurants I used to eat and I was in for a rudeawakening. We sat down for the thanksgiving buffet which was $49 per person. The decor was lovely and inviting, but the foodwas abhorrent. Purely disgusting. From the freshness of the food to the cleanliness of the buffet. EVERYTHING was dry and leftsitting under the lamp. What made this experience worse was the amount of people standing around and not one took a rag to wipedown the buffet. A manager came and said they were bringing fresh food and nothing was brought out. the eggs were like pieces ofcrumbled brick to the point that my father in law thought it was dried cornmeal. This was a waste of money and time. Ugh I wishI would have never . Paid $150 Read more

Got the flat bread appetizer and the cajun penne alfredo. The flatbread was so yummy and the Cajun penne, 10/10!!!! The spices... were so flavorful but blended so well!! Service was fast and friendly! Read more

I dined here about a month ago, and the food was fantastic! Service was very friendly. I had the roasted salmon with herb... butter, mashed potatoes, and citrus-glazed carrots with a side of crock-pot chili. Excellent! Take the opportunity too to viewthe Ohio River on a nice night, and maybe you'll get to see the fireworks. Highly recommended. Read more

I was tired of the box lunch provided by the conference I attended at the Galt house hotel. This was on the second floor west... side The lunch menu was limited but I was able to get a warm burger, fries, tea, and fried tomatoes. The food was deliciousthe price was a bit high but that’s to be expected in this sort of restaurant. Server was nice and refilled the drink manytimes. I would go back here for a good warm meal while staying at the galt house. Read more

I had the Cajun Penne Alfredo with shrimp and chicken and loved it. The chicken was juicy and the shrimp were cooked perfectly,... and the seasoning was flavorful but not overpowering. The garlic bread it came with was just right for sopping up the leftoversauce. Everyone at our table left completely empty plates, so I gather they were pretty happy with their meals, too. Theservice was attentive and the prices weren't too bad for a restaurant in a fairly nice hotel. The ambiance is lovely -- fancy, but not so formal you'll feel the need to dress up. My only minor complaint is that I wish a salad had been included, but theportion size was generous enough that I really didn't need anything more than what I got. If I stay at the Galt House again, and there's a good chance I will, I might well eat here again. The only thing that might stop me is the desire to exploreLouisville's culinary scene more. This is a city with some very good food. Read more

We went to Walkers Exchange for dinner and can honestly say it was the worst meal and experience we’ve ever had. The service... was terrible. The restaurant was next to empty so we were shocked to see our server just standing in the corner and not takingour order, refreshing our drinks. etc. It was clear he was never trained in how to be a server. He finally took my husbandsorder and walked away before we had to flag him down so I could also order a meal. While the service was terrible, the food wasalso not great. The only thing that was warm was the pretzel appetizer, our appetizer was never cleared before the salad cameout, which was a very long wait before the salads came out. Then we didn’t even have time to finish those before our extremelyover salted, well done steaks came out. They tasted like a well done hamburger. We are used to nice steaks in the Midwest so wewere very disappointed - given it was the most expensive thing on the menu. We just wanted our bill and to leave and we lookedaround for 10-15 minutes before our server even checked in on us. Just a really horrible experience. We left immediately anddrove to River House which was like a night and day experience. Should we ever visit Louisville again, it will not be to thisrestaurant. Diner beware. Read more

We dined here for lunch on a Saturday before checking out of the hotel, and the food was very good! I had the Roasted Chicken... Club that came with fries. My husband had the Southern Fried Chicken drizzled with honey with mashed potatoes and green beans. The food came out pretty quick as well! The loss of one star and almost two was the service. It was absolutely terrible. Wewaited to be seated for 15 minutes with no one at all checking the check in desk. No waiters or waitresses in sight for thislong. I finally went back and got one. They were all crowded up talking. On to sitting and dining, our waitress came one time.We had to go to the group again to get our ticket after over an hour of being there. I probably won’t be back because of this. Read more
