Chips and salsa are great. Service is great. Decor and ambience is great. I got the combination plate. The chili relleno was... okay but I didn't find much of a chili in it. Mostly cheese. Only found two small bits of an actual pepper. Read more

Food was actually good but the level of service has never been the same since this location opened. The original is much better... not to mention Blue Agave in Old Town. I guess you have to know the staff in order to be treated like a paying customer. Thewaitress never asked how our food was and the young man that brought our food was more engaging. Read more

We really enjoyed our time here. Friendly and quick service. I always love a place that offers chips and salsa from the get-go.... I didn't particularly enjoy the flavors of my meal, but everything was good quality and I tried my wife's and hers was good. The wife and I came to Palominos for dinner since we hadn't been in a very long time and we were both craving a good Mexican... restaurant. We ordered the Appetizer Trio to start and my wife ordered a Kickin' Palomino Margarita. The Appetizer Trio wasabsolutely delicious and had us with high hopes for our main course. My wife said the Margarita was delicious as well. Thedownfall came when our main course came out. The presentation looked promising, but unfortunately it was a let down. I orderedthe ground beef Top Shelf Burrito and it was extremely watery inside to the point where the tortilla had become soggy and it wasvery bland and tasteless. My wives Combo #3 was also a major let down. We also noticed at the bottom corner of our menu thatthey're charging guests an additional 3% to pay their kitchen staff. I don't mind tipping for good service, but if a companyneeds to push that onto their customers they should consider paying a better wage to their kitchen staff and not stick it to thecustomer. My husband and I visited Palomino Mexican Restaurant today. The front desk clerk was very nice and very helpful. We decided to... sit at a booth in the bar. The server/bar tender Aspynn was terrible. It took her for ever to come to our table to take ourdrink and food order. We appreciate the free chips and salsa (thank you) however the salsa tasted like it was bad orfishy. Our food took so long to get to the table. When it finally arrived, it was very cold. Because it had sat under sometype of heat source, the cheese within the burrito coagulated. Our server never checked to see how our food was or say you'rewelcome when my husband and I thanked her. When I did not refill of my one alcohol drink she did not ask if I would likesomething else to drink, just walked away. Yes, I would have loved an ice tea. We asked her for our check and two regulars ofhers walked in and sat at the bar. At which time, we overheard her tell them next Saturday was her last day and continued onwith her conversation with them. It took her another ten minutes to get us our check. My husband and I understood then why wereceived such horrible service from her. We notice on the menu, they now charge a 3% kitchen and dishwasher fee (imageattached). I'm fine with restaurants suggesting we offer to tip to the back of the house, however I feel they should be tippedjust as a server is tipped on service. NOT automatically add 3%. If the food is terrible, then the tip will reflect the foodand if the service is terrible, the tip reflects the level of service received. When I was younger, I worked in restaurants andthe servers were required to give 3% of their tips to the bar tenders, back of the house and host desk. This is an absolute gem of a restaurant close to where we live. We saw it a couple of times before and finally decided to try it... out today for lunch. The ambiance is great, and there's plenty of seating. The service was fabulous. Our server, Karly,explained everything really well and patiently, as well as recommending some incredible food. My wife had the Chile Lime ChickenTacos, which she said, was one of the best chicken tacos she's ever had. I had the Poblano Cream Chicken Enchiladas, which wereabsolutely delectable. The sauce was just brilliant. They also give you some chips and salsa while you wait for your mouthwatering food. The food is also reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this place and stop by again very soon. Read more
