Rural setting with beautiful views of countryside and bridge over the Potomac River. Enter through garden to casually elegant... dining room with glass walls on two sides. Exceptional staff, welcoming and knowledgeable about the food and wines. Food iscreative, complex, and delicious. Low to moderate noise level. Every moment was a pleasure! Read more

Autumn is in the air and in our belly as we enjoyed another wonderful night at The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm. What a culinary... surprise to find one dish in a sweetly prepared pumpkin - very tasty and a table favorite. The colors were explosive in oranges, yellows and reds and the flavors of fall were so perfectly matched. We talked about our meal endlessly on the way home. Read more

Getting catfished by food is heartbreaking. That’s how I felt after this meal. The reviews were amazing so I feel sad about... writing this honest review. I will say the service was stellar. The servers really knew their stuff and were so excited to sharethe foraging stories. The reality of the food was so disappointing. And the restaurant was freezing! We started with an amazingsourdough and delicious green butter. Only to be followed with a bland raw fish dish and an interesting fava bean-stuffed eggshell, which had an overpowering dill flavor. Next up was a falafel under the guise of a sauce covered hush puppy, verymisplaced in the middle of this dinner. We were then served a mushroom pie, with grit. The mushrooms were not properly cleaned, which made this hard to eat even though the bottom layer was smooth and creamy. But…The highlight of the evening was thebrisket - very flavorful with a pesto sauce. Wish there was more. When they weren’t trying to stuff the wine list down mythroat (I gave the menu back twice), I had a basil rimmed apple cider that was unusually delightful followed by a huge piece ofpoo-shaped chocolate ganache with salted caramel drops and an ice cream (flavor unknown). My friend said the wine pairing wasexcellent. I would not go back for dinner but I would go back for drinks one day. Maybe. Overall, dinner was not worth it. Read more

I had a phenomenal meal and experience at The Restaurant at Patowmack. As a solo diner, the staff took exceptional care of me... and ensured that my experience met expectations. I chose to dine indoors and had a gorgeous open-door view of the valley andriver where I watched the sky change from afternoon to evening. The staff was both discreetly (when I was eating) and activelyattentive to my experience. My water glass was never less than half full. Each course was well-explained to me and identifiedthe connection to the farm. The food was beautifully presented and each bite was delicious. It was true to the early-springseason. I highly recommend this restaurant and am thankful to Ivan, Eddie, Alex, Chef Vincent, and the whole staff for making mefeel welcomed and certainly well-fed. Read more

I took my sister here a few weeks ago for her Birthday and we had a great time. From start to finish the whole event and... experience was classy and tasteful. During the call in which they confirmed our reservation they asked a couple of questions -any food allergies and were we celebrating anything - the former because it's a fixed menu I assume in the latter to customizethe experience for their guests. When we arrived at the intimate setting we found the menus customized with a special happybirthday note, which really made my sister's night (and consequently, my night). The 9 course menu was delicious from start tofinish but some of the standouts included the Farm Egg (served in a perfectly cracked/open egg) Wild Chesapeake Rockfish,Whiffletree Beef. The service was top notch and - even though we were the closest table to the bar - I think we would have hadthe same level of attentiveness for our adult beverage refills no matter where we sat. We did the wine pairing which was also adelight and I thought for most (but not all) really accentuated the accompanied dishes. Will definitely return again and hungryfor more! Read more

I love a great foodie experience. Especially at a place that serves locally sourced ingredients. You pay for a fixed menu (which... is always changing to adjust to the season). You can also do the drink pairing which normally I would have done but opted outdue to my wine tasting beforehand (at another nearby location). The food was tasty and I felt the dishes that came out aftereach one complimented each other well. The butter at the beginning was amazing! The egg dish was so wonderfully creative. Ididn’t give it 5 stars because for the concept, I would have hoped each dish was explained in a bit more detail (i.e. moreabout each plate, there is a reason why the chef decided to make each dish with these specific local ingredients, more of thisbackground would be nice). Also the timing between each dish took a while. Again, because of the concept and price, I do payattention to these things. BUT overall, the food was great, location was awesome. Definitely perfect for a date night! Superintimate. I would recommend going to a nearby vineyard beforehand for a quick tasting. Read more

Atmosphere - 5/5 Value - 4/5 Service - 3/5 Food - see below (x/5): Seeds & crackers - 5 (innovative) Farm egg - 4 (bland; great... sauce) Oyster and smoked roots - 4 (salty) Cardoons - 4.5 (Excellent, more sauce!) Atlantic sea bass - 5 (excellentexecution) Porridge - 4 (missing some je ne sais quoi) Lime, chili, tarragon - 5 (BEST DISH ??) Fall fruit & nut cake - 4.5(innovative) Fond farewell - ???? The property hosts the first certified organic farm in the DC area (1995) as they sourcealmost all ingredients within 30 miles, they have a beautiful hilltop venue, and they make use of unconventional foodstuffs. They also have innovative methods in their cooking (liquid nitrogen came up more than once) which the staff describe in detailupon receipt of every course. Overall, a lovely and holistic approach to dining. The value (we did not do pairing) was decentbut for the prix fixe price of $100-200/person, one should expect excellence in the food and service. It was just short. Thenon-kitchen staff were excellent. However, the kitchen service was woefully lacking - we waited much, much too long betweencourses. We were at times served after some tables which arrived 30-45 minutes later than we did and they had bigger parties. Wewere full at course 5 of 9. Not ideal; really put a damper on the experience of the latter courses. It seems as if the kitchencan only accommodate a fixed start time for the restaurant-wide customer cohort but its reservation structure does not reflectthat. That said, the temperature control of the food was in fact spot on. Read more

Love this place!! Becka is amazing, she’s been our server the 2 times we’ve visited here and has made such a lasting... impression, will definitely ask for her specifically next time we visit. She overheard us talking about figs and went and pickedus all fresh figs! Talk about amazing!! We visited this time for our friend’s engagement and they gave us a free champagnetoast and gave us a seat in the gazebo for free. Amazing. And that’s just the service. Don’t get me started on the food! These chefs are masters at their craft. Thank you so much for giving us an unforgettable evening. Read more
