We had a really good bartender named Joe. But that's the good. I had a combo of ribs, perch, and porterhouse steak. The portions... were decent. The ribs came off the bone alright but were not cooked long enough as there was too much fat across the 1/4 slab.Perch had no flavor even with "butter"(didn't taste like butter). It’s a very sad day when you go into a restaurant that you have enjoyed for years and get the reaction from a waitress when... asking nicely if someone can take our order. We arrived at 3:14 today and were seated, there were only two other tables beingserved at this time. The 1st waitress brought us our drinks and explained they were in the middle of a shift change. We waiteduntil 3:45 and after hearing the staff talking in the other room about outside issue, I walked up to a waitress and asked ifthere was someone who could take our order. Well apparently she was the waitress that was coming on duty and took offense to measking her to take our order. She says no one told her about our table and did not like the fact that she was being yelled at. Iguess asking for assistance isn’t in her job description. We then ask for a check after her attitude towards us and her replywas “ you can just leave” . Such great food ruined by the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEE I’ve ever dealt with. I tried this place with my boyfriend a few months ago and I was, unfortunately, not very pleased at all. We did not have to wait... to be seated, but we had to wait 40 minutes to an hour before we were served, and by the time we got our food, it was inedible.It was so buttery and fried that there was basically nothing there (I had ordered the fried shrimp). I had heard fantasticthings about McVey's, so I was disappointed when I tried them for myself and it ended up not being a pleasant stop. Read more
I would definitely eat here again! The weekend prime rib special was a TON of food for a reasonable price. I enjoyed the kidney... bean salad and cole slaw that came to the table ahead of the salad. Bread was fantastic and tasted freshly baked. The prime ribwas delicious and so were the garlic mashed potatoes. I'm just sorry there isn't 6 stars for this place. Before I tell you just how good this place is allow me to tell you about... Kim. She is a world class server! She was so attentive, engaging, and informative that I will ask for her by name. The primerib Kim recommended was awesome and my wife's filet very good. The garlic whipped potatoes are incredible and the cocktails arevery well made. Go my now for this great value with awesome service. Thank you all at McVey's! Read more

I always support local business and have supported the restaurant since the day it opened. Today I bought dinner there. I tried... using a gift card that my 80 year old mother who lives on fixed income bought me for Christmas. They would not honor the giftcard. This is a lot of money in the world my mom lives in. She actually saved for this. The nasty girl working at the hostessstation said it was not her problem. You might want to think twice about any gift cards.
