I went in Hickory Hog for the first time today. I walked in and ordered the meal for 8. They had me fixed up and out the door in... less than 10 minutes. We loved everything we got. My boyfriend and I stopped by to get takeout here, and this place is so cute and delicious. The staff was very friendly, and... they even have daily specials where they feature and off menu item. We tried all the sauces, spicy bbq, original and the whitebbq, the spicy was my favorite. I got the animal house, with all the meats on it and he got the Mac daddy, and the Mac n cheeseon that sandwich was amazing. The pickles are homemade and you need to order extra lol. Food: Meat was tender with a little different taste of spices. Potatoes salad was bland. Baked beans tasted like eating... straight from a can of regular Bushes. I liked the slaw--more of a dill flavor, but my husband did not. I enjoyed thecucumber/onion salad with a pickled jalapeño, but my husband did not and he didn't like the flavor that got on hisribs. Service: Other than taking the order and bringing food to the table, there was no service. Drinks are self-serve, and youhave to clear your own table. It was very nicely decorated and clean. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! Great food, I mean ABSOLUTELY delicious!!! Great service...there's a bar and a second entrance in the back... of the building. Located on Main street, easy to find and worth every penny. We will definitely be visiting regularly. Get thereand enjoy! Read more
My wife and I stopped at our new local Bar B Q place. The food was good, the atmosphere in the restaurant was very laid back... and comfortable. Service was nice and friendly, the only draw backs were small portions and price was high for the portion size.The side of brisket was 9$ for one strip. Read more
Great addition to Lucedale, which desperately needed another restaurant option. The food is phenomenal, and the restaurant is... nice. A nice bar with a good variety of beers, canned and on tap. Covered outdoor dining where you can smell the food smoking.It's a great spot. We've eaten here a half dozen times since they opened, and everything has been great. Only thing I haven'tcared for was the rib tips, but that was mainly personal preference. Read more
Buyer's beware:. Side's are not included with meat order. My husband was specifically asked what two sides he wanted with his... meal. Lo and behold we were charged $3.75 per side. Meat was delicious. Chips over cooked. Loved the cucumber/onion. Husbanddidn't care for Cole slaw. Husband says not going again. JR Read more
