We had not been to a Ponderosa in years. Not too many around anymore. Going here was like visiting an old friend. Wait staff was... great. I could not believe how clean the buffet area was. Steaks were as good as any steak house we have been to. Prices weremore than reasonable for what you get. We drove over an hour to visit this location and we have no problem doing it again. Enjoyed lunch here while traveling to Ludington. I remember Ponderosa's being all over and now there are only a scattered few... around. The restaurant was clean and well tended. Food good and buffet area clean. Service was good and staff friendly. Nicevariety on the buffet and much food to choose from. Salad bar is also nice variety . Enjoyed eating here once again and willdefinately visit again when we come back to this area. Read more
My husband and almost 2 year old son got there early before the rest of our party showed up (total 9 including us). It wasn't... packed so we told the lady at the register after paying, because you have to pay before you dine, that we needed some tablespushed together. She said no problem and to step off to the side and we'd be helped shortly. The manager was right there butawkwardly stared at us, smiled, and then before we knew it, she disappeared. So we uncomfortably stood there waiting another 10min before the rest of our party showed up. And if you have a toddler and are in a restaurant, it's a recipe for disasterespecially if you have to wait. While our son was having a meltdown, the manager came back from what looked like her smokebreak and said "oh I had tables ready for you over there"....like we were supposed to know that? Anyway, the rest of theexperience was okay. I wish I was able to get a chance to try more food but my son wouldn't let me leave him. That's on methough lol Otherwise, the rest of the staff were really patient and tried to help as much as possible during my kids meltdownso I really appreciate them for that. Read more
Traveled 2hrs from Grand Rapids since we no longer have one, very clean, service was on point, and the food was awesome!!! All... the favorites! Smaller buffet but loaded with everything! Chicken, meatballs, Mac n cheese, mash, deserts, and 3 soups! Andmore! I ordered prime rib! And got the buffet free! This whole experience brought me back to my childhood! Thank you! Read more

If you are ok with trays and buffets and old-school dining experiences then this is the place to go. We loved it from the... second we walked in and put our tray on the rail, silverware and beverage too. Used our senior discount, ordered our steaks anddescended on the salad bar and dinner buffet complete with all the appropriate toppings. Even had a Taco station, spaghettistation, fish and clam strips. We each made a gorgeous salad including cottage cheese and pears. Our $19 (what a bargain)porterhouse steak arrived hot, perfectly cooked and delicious. Our server Shannon was kind, professional and attentive withoutbeing overly friendly and familiar. Our dining experience was awesome and we will definitely make this a regular stop. Ourentire bill was only $52 which included a $10 tip. Please be kind and generous to the servers. We need them and they needus. Did i mention how spotlessly clean the entire place was? And how kind and thorough the cashier was? She made it easier forus to understand the system. Had prime rib that includes the salad bar. Lots of variety on the buffet. Safety procedures, wear a disposable glove to grab... the utensils when getting food from the buffet. Great cheesecake. Attentive wait staff. Read more
I've eaten here a couple times, most recently with my boyfriend, and we had a great time! It was his first time and he was... surprised how good the buffet was. I only have one minor complaint and it's that they could use a little seasoning on the maincourse that they cook-to-order for you ???? I've gotten steak a couple different ways and although it was cooked perfectly totemp, I really wish it had the seasoning to stand up to the yummy food in the buffet! Read more
