We got our food to go. The little salads with ranch dressing were good. Husband and I both got the shrimp/oyster plates. The... French fries were disappointing, greasy, almost matchstick fries. Neither of us ate them. We now know to get the baked potatonext time. The huspuppies are nothing special. However, the shrimp and oysters were phenomenal, perhaps the best we've ever had.Delicious! They made me forgive the lousy fires. The little container of pudding was a decent effort on a simple dessert. Thelarge plate could easily have served us both. We requested extra tartar sauce and lemon which they provided. Tartar sauce madewith sweet relish which just seems wrong to me. We prefer dill relish but that's just a personal preference. Read more
My family has been eating at the Catfish Cabin since I can remember, it was always one of my grandmother's favorite places to... eat lunch at. We now we take my daughter, who is a very picky eater because she loves the fried shrimp. The salad bar alone isalmost worth the sometimes standing room only wait on a Friday or Saturday night and you won't find better service. The onlycomplaint I have and reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that everything on the lunch menu is $12.95 or more, thats kind ofmuch for a lunch for the regular person, tho I do understand everything is going up here latley...just wish it were our pay. Big portions, fast service. Very authentic cabin vibe going on. Food was delicious and fast. All was good until I bit into... oyster shell (thankfully my tooth didn?t break!!). Buffet for your salad , and you?ll have to get your own filling for yourpotato at the buffet. Read more
Great place for seafood better in Lumberton. Their main thing is their Catfish which is fried to the right degree of crispiness... or grilled to perfection. They also have shrimp, crab cakes, and oysters. This night I was disappointed because I wanted to getthe combo of Catfish and Oysters, but they were out of Oysters and this was on a Saturday! So I elected just to get the largeorder of fried Catfish with a baked potato. They have a pretty nice salad bar and also a potato bar for anything you want to fixyour baked potato to your liking! My wife opted for their seafood platter that came with grilled Catfish, two Crab cakes,Grilled Shrimp, and one grilled Stuffed Shrimp, and NO Oysters! She also ordered the baked potato for her side. To start all ofthis off we ordered an appetizer of stuffed jalapenos that came stuffed with cheddar cheese. Again, I was a little disappointedas being a seafood restaurant I thought they would be seafood stuffed jalapenos with crabmeat and shrimp, but they were ok. Fordrinks we both had Ice Tea. With were with a large group celebrating a family members retirement. Everyone was pretty happy withtheir food. Our server for the evening really did an excellent job in keeping up with our table, she had a great personality!!!They have a bar and do serve beer, and someone wanted beer, but there was an issue with their liquor license and they were notable to serve alcohol at this time. I would like to go back as it really did have a nice atmosphere to it. They bring peanuts toyour table on arrival and encourage patrons to throw the shells on the floor!!! Update as of July, I have heard that the CatfishCabin had been bought by Tia Juanita's! Maybe they'll have Oysters next time I go!!! Read more
