New seasonal menu. We had creamy parsnip soup a d new England clam chowder for starters. Both soups were tasty and well... presented. Homemade biscuits were very salty and dry. We both had the seared chicken with couscous and greens. We both felt thechicken was dry an rather uneventful. Excellent service and staff and of course incredible views. 9/2022 update We visited forlunch and found the food to be improved from the previous visit. I started with a Cuban bean and sausage soup. Very tasty andjust the right amount of spice. The homemade biscuits arrived warm and were very well prepared this visit. They were flavorfuland not dried out. This is a wonderful restaurant. For most it may be pricey and only for special occasions but its well worth it. Tne food,... ambiance, and service are excellent. It's on the Delaware and there's a foot bridge to walk on after your meal (great forpictures as you look back at the restaurant and down the river). We've been here many times and will be back. The good. Great ambiance. The bad the food doesn't even come close. On 7/28/2022 we had reservations at 6 for four people. My... friend ordered a Hanger steak medium well it came rare. Sent back and still came back rare. Showed it to waitress second time toshow displeasure. Took it home for the poodle. I think for $39.00 they should have a chef that knows the difference. The alcoholdrinks were overpriced compared to most restaurants. They charge enough to hire a quality chef. I didn't think the Chateaubriandfor two was very tasting. Read more
Outstanding service! Delicious food with Outstanding views of the Delaware River. History everywhere you look. Food all cooked... to perfection, my favorite drink was the spicy Poloma. Could eat here every day except it's a 4 hour drive from home :( Read more
The atmosphere and service are amazing. Food is sub par for price. Unfortunately the flavor profiles are lacking, at least for... the brunch menu. But... absolutely beautiful setting and wait staff is amazing. Read more
We had a lovely lunch here. We sat outside and enjoyed the peaceful view. We started with the melon salad and it was so... refreshing. Oh and those biscuits were delicious. We split a burger (bacon jam YUM) and I enjoyed the fries. The staff here waswonderful. Our server gave us a quick little tour on our way out. My friend and I went to a garden tour and she wanted to eat lunch here. It was LATE like 1:40 in the afternoon and the hostess... didn't seem to like that we had not made a reservation. Thus, instead of giving us seating at the window and the gorgeous viewwe had a table across from those (also a gorgeous view but she could have given us seating at the window). The restaurant wasalmost entirely empty when we left). It took quite a long time to even get water for our table and longer for our drinks. Weboth ordered the pretzel bun cheese burger. It was delicious but huge, I cut mine in half and ate that. Friend took half ofhers home, I did not because the burger was quite messy and wet with large lettuce and tomato pieces (fine but should have beendrier putting on the burger. The fries we both agreed, were good but not crisp. This is because (as my late Mother alwayssaid) the grease wasn't HOT enough and they weren't cooked QUICKLY. We both felt our waitress was lacking in a friendlywelcoming spirit, more a 'I'm too good to be here' demeanor. I stayed and ate here. The hotel and room was full old world charm; beautiful. The walk on the bridge over Delaware river is... breathtaking. Words cannot describe how elegant dinner was. The restaurant is clearly one of the best I have ever been to. Thefood was exquisite, everything was cooked and delivered to perfection. My waitress Sheri Lynn added to the ambience. Much to mysurprise she handed me a birthday card, chocolates and sang happy birthday. If you’re looking for an old world romantic placeto go, look no further. Read more
