I truly enjoyed Vera's. We went for a birthday party of 10 and they were very accommodating. Our servers were GREAT and very... friendly and professional. The food was great, the crab cake was really good with mainly crab meat no fillers. The fish andchips were great too!! And the view is AWESOME from inside and outside. I recommend on Sundays to go around 4pm to beat thelater crowd. ???? Read more
Great food, great view. This place was awesome! First, the view of the river was great. We saw a nice sunset during our stay.... Second, the food was great. I had fish and chips but no one in our party had any complaints about the food. The service wasgreat as well. Waitresses bent over backwards to make sure our experience was memorable. This place is great. Let’s start with the staff. They are the best. You feel like it’s family waiting on you. Second... the food is great. The view is the best. My family and I went to Vera's over the weekend, and we were not impressed. We called ahead and asked if we needed reservations... since there were a decent number of us and were told no. When we got there, they had no tables available for a party of oursize, and said they could seat us outside (in the sun). Once we were seated, our waitress said she'd bring some waters. Well,our waters were brought, but to the wrong table! We ordered drinks and she forgot half of them. We eventually were able to moveback inside after waiting and asking to do so since it was so hot outside on the deck. Speaking as a former waitress, theservice here is not good. It took 15 minutes to get a drink refilled and they weren't even that busy! Waitress kept trying toclear plates before we were even close to being done, and couldn't answer basic questions about the menu. The food was average,but certainly not worth what they charge. What a beautiful night with great service, great food and a lovely atmosphere. Our waitress was Nobi and she was just wonderful.... She was so tentative even as the restaurant got busier. The food was great! We had oysters, crab dinner and fish and chips. Wesat inside due to the humidity, but we plan on going back so we can sit out on the patio. This is definitely a hideawaylocation. If it wasn't for the big sign on Rt 4, you'd never know it was there. Read more
Not sure why this place get such terrible reviews. We’ve been here twice since the new management took over and both times the... food has been good and of course the views delightful. Best of all, since people are still not coming here, there’s always atable available with no wait on the lovely outdoor deck with a sunset view. I’d really like this place to survive but alsodon’t want it to be discovered if that makes sense. Oysters on the half shell were plump delicious and the fish and chips andfish tacos were good. It’s not super gourmet but none of the restaurants in Solomons are either. The point of coming here isto enjoy the lovely view on a beautiful day and this completely fits the bill. Also, the orange crushes made with fresh squeezedOJ are still great. Still greatly miss the old tiki bar vibe with the bands and partying in the summer, but this more low-keyversion of Vera’s is still solid and very pleasant. We went as a large group on a Friday afternoon. The ladies who waited on us did a great job. All kinds of food was ordered. I... wish I would've gotten a burger because they looked delicious. I got an appetizer of calamari and shared an order of fries. Thecalamari was crisp, just as I like them. A large serving and I was stuffed. My friend got a half order of steamed shrimp and wasdisappointed they weren't shelled. The decor of the place was fun. Also a great view. Read more
Celebrated my birthday here yesterday and was really impressed! First, our waitress Carrie, was excellent. She was very... attentive and made great recommendations from the menu. Second, the food was delicious! The crab cake is no joke - all meat,no fillers! And, those who had the fish & chips really enjoyed them. I had the fried oysters and they were tasty but wish theyhad been fried a little bit lighter. Third, the atmosphere was lovely. The only recommendation I have to make the experienceeven better is to add more selections to the dessert menu. They only have 2 cake choices - coconut and cookies n' cream. Someice cream and key lime pie would be nice???? This tropical themed joint on the water is the perfect setting to chill and relax. Read more
