Driving on a trip, or when working on a project and having a desire for a lunch that is quick, inexpensive and probably healthy,... Subway is a good option. Driving through Luverne, Alabama recently, we stopped at a Subway. Luverne is not a large town. Itprobably has less than 3000 people. Most of the restaurants that I have seen or visited, are informal and cater to local peopleor people driving through. Inexpensive, informal, and "down home" are terms that come to mind. The Subway is located right onthe main highway. It is relatively new, easy to spot with the big sign out front displaying the Subway logo, and service isquick and friendly. It is also not expensive. I had my usual: a whole grain bread with rotisserie chicken, lettuce, tomato andmayonnaise. The lettuce was not as fresh as it usually was and some appeared to have brown tint on the edges. There are a fewchoices in bread as well as choices of the size of a sandwich. The bread was fresh. There was plenty of meat. The taste wasexcellent. The iced tea was good. The employees were working hard as there was a line when we arrived. They were also helpfuland friendly and made the visit a more pleasant one. The rest rooms were very clean. That sounds like a "given" for manyplaces. My experience is driving through small towns in this area that the rest rooms are often an afterthought and sometimesquite dirty. Here, the bathrooms were unisex, for better or worse, and they were very clean. It seems like a small thing butdirty restrooms are an easy way to discourage customers from returning. The lady who was working Saturday morning shift, was really polite and nice. Made a good sandwich as well.

Very professional and food is always fresh. I personally drive extra miles out of my way to eat at this subway.
Staff is friendly. The fountain machine never works. The last couple times we have went we go in knowing the last time wasn't... all that good and hoping this time will be better but nine times out of ten we leave feeling like we have just paid for a sitdown restaurant type meal and leave with something about the same quality as McDonald's. Stopped by around 1130 on Saturday 2/28/20 while traveling from Atlanta back to Florida. Went in and used the restroom which... was very clean. Came out and there were four worked each doing something. I was greeted and placed my order. Sat down torelax and eat. While eating I was impressed how large this shop was. It was very clean and the workers were staying busy evenwhen there were no customers. That is when I noticed the we?re obviously call in or online orders. Each was going from stationto station making the orders. They appeared very efficient and were constantly smiling and working together as a team. Youdon?t see that very often now a days. As I walked out I saw a sign on the door proudly announcing the shop was locally ownedand operated. That owner should be proud of his employees. I have eaten at subways all over the world and this was by far thebest one. Forgot to mention there is a display case behind the counter with whole tomato?s and cucumbers which tells be theingredient are fresh and possible locally grown? The sandwich was delicious. The only complaint I had was the soda machine wasout of Dr Pepper and regular coke. In closing my biggest observation was the enjoyment of watching the staff work together as ateam and they were enjoying themselves. Read more
