Great food and atmosphere! I can't recommend the potato board enough! If you love tots, fries, and chips, you gotta taste their... dios that go with this board. Also, they've got the best entertainment! Trivia, karaoke, and live music can't be beat! Read more

Went to the Broken Axle tonight at about 7:30PM and it was closed. The sign on the door said it was open 11AM to 11PM, but it... was dark, no lights on and the parking lot was empty. Read more

Stopped for lunch while riding the Hatfield McCoy trails and ended up staying for drinks! Our party of 7 sat at the bar and... received great service and great conversation from the owners. Food was delicious and the restaurant has a great atmosphere withan overhead door to an outside bar. On the patio there is cornhole and beer pong. Backs up to the Appalachian Outpost forsouvenirs and a few necessities for ATVs. Out of all the places we stopped for food while riding, this was our groups favorite! Read more

Ate here on 3/15, sat down at 7:50pm. 3 other tables were sitting in the restaurant. We were handed menus by a lady and was told... to pass them around. A waiter came over and ordered drinks and food again at 750pm. We were never told they were behind in thekitchen..nothing. 850 comes and we ask about our food and kept having to go back to the bar to get drink refills as waiter neverchecked on us. We would go to the bar and he would be texting on his phone. We walked by the kitchen several times and ourpretzel appetizer sat there for 20 min before it was brought to us at 915pm. At 920 pm...guests who sat after us received theirfood...again..noone came and apologized or explained to us what was going on. At 930pm our food finally arrived. We had beensitting for almost 2 hours...the food was mediocre...cheese on tater totally laked flavor, the pineapple and chicken wasbasically canned pineapple with a couple small pieces of chicken. At 950...we asked for our check..again had to go to the bar toget...the manager offered a table beside us free appetizers due to the wait..again...we were never addressed. When checkingout I asked the owner "Lea" if something could be taken off our bill for the 2 hr wait. She responded "I cant be expected tofully staff on a weekday". We are renting cabins and rentals from appalachian outpost and BAC rentals and they have been so niceand amazing. She was so rude to me and our whole party. She gave us 10% off...never apologized for anything. Gave me the rudestlooks and told me she was the Owner of Broken Axle and Appalachian Outpost. This experience with her was awful...thats not theway to treat guests. I dont see this business surviving...we come to WV to ride all the time and I will tell all of our groupsto avoid this place. Shame on Lea the owner! Read more
