We loved this place the first time we went (before COVID). We made reservations and went back- it was terrible. We made... reservations, which didn’t seem to matter. When we got seated, they forgot to get our drinks. After waiting 30 minutes aftertaking our order, the waitress came back to tell us they ran out of my wife’s order (a special of the day). Then they ran outof my wine choice. After an hour, the waitress returned to say the kitchen misplaced our order! Shame on us for waiting anotherhour to eat. We spoke to the owner/manager about our experience. He apologized after the fact. He didn’t offer to make itright, which would have been a huge gesture and recognition of the fact that this place has serious problems. First time we’ve eaten at the Loft since before COVID, when we thoroughly enjoyed it, the atmosphere and the food, good steaks... and sides, but not great sauce. This visit, our table ordered cod bites for an appetizer and it turned out to be like codcroquettes, some cod mixed in with lots of filler. We ordered the special of crab- stuffed shrimp. The shrimp were very, verysmall and filled with a large, overly-salty bread-like stuffing, couldn’t even taste a bit of crab, at $26 a hit! TirimasuWAS delicious, but serving was appropriately one small ice cream scoop. At $186 for dinner, plus tip, we left with a “badtaste” in our mouths, feeling as though we had been taken advantage of, and will NEVER return. And I did not even mentionthe lousy atmosphere! Friday night was our 2nd time dinning at Carmela's at the Loft and I can assure it will not be our last! The food and service is... INCREDIBLE! The staff and owner made us feel like we were long time friends sitting down for an authentic Italian dinner. Thefood was amazing and clearly homemade and authentic! I can't wait to go back! We made a reservation for 7pm but stood at the entrance for 30 min until someone could seat us. Then waited another 20 min... before a waiter came by to get our order. What was the point of making a reservation? It would have been fine if it wasn't forthe lack of communication. Were just told (when we asked) "Oh someone should be by soon". The live music was nice and the placewas clean and warmly lit. The vibe was pretty relaxed and slow. I might like it more if I was retired. It wasn't really my cupof tea. The food wasn't all that great either. Bread was dry, tasted like a microwaved bun from Walmart. I love foods with lotsof spices but this was clearly overdone. Cheese bread was straight garlic and the lasagna had so much parsley that was all Icould hardly taste. I mean it wasn't so bad I didn't eat it (although if I pay for something I'm pretty much always gonna eatit), but I don't plan on returning. Read more
I had a wonderful experience! The ambiance is beautiful and really cool having a live band. The spinach artichoke dip was... AMAZING! It tasted fresh and lots of flavor, just the right consistency. For my main entre I ordered the stuff shells which wasdelicious ???? I loved the season and the sauce. My friends also enjoyed their meal. Everyone was pleased with the service andthe great tasting food. I would highly recommend making reservations in advance. Read more
We dined at Carmela’s for my mom’s birthday. The atmosphere was great with a saxophonist playing. The food absolutely... delicious. We ordered the pot roast, mashed potatoes with mushrooms and gravy, and the chicken spinach lasagna and they weresome of the best I’ve ever had. Both dishes were recommended by our waiter and were excellent choices! We also had thecaramel bourbon pecan cheesecake and it was mmmm mmmmm good ?????? Ralph the owner greeted us at our table was was ever so kindand welcoming. This is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants. We will visit again very soon?? Read more
