Liz and I have been regulars at Isabella's even back when they were on Old Forest Road. The owners have always taken pride in... creating a fine dining atmosphere along with ensuring quality cuisine along with great wait staff. There are MAYBE 1 to 4places in the Central VA area that can consistently deliver, and Isabella's is one of them. We had YET another great experiencetonight and I have to say it would be hard to give this place less than a 4 star review even in a downturn. Read more

A fresh breath of air in comparison to other Italian faire options in Lynchburg. Perhaps one of the primary reasons it was our... first venture inside; we expected it to be a repeat of others and we were pleasantly surprised when we were greeted and seatedthough underdressed. The owner personally made sure we had seating although we had not made a reservation beforehand whichembraced a quality level of attention that Lynchburg restauranteurs are known for. Immediately overwhelmed at the ambiance andof the beauty inside the strip mall trattoria, we strode through the romantically lit room to a cozy booth and were made to feelwelcomed and comfortable. We both chose a dish from the specials and while they were incredible, the ribeye left us wanting.Sampling the mussels first was an excellent choice and we look forward to returning soon and choosing another appetizer, asselecting just one was tough! The server’s (David) timing was impeccable and made sure the entrees arrived timely after themussels were cleared. Our drinks were a nice twist of an old fashioned favorite, basil infused mojitos (yum!), and our palletswere happily delighted all the way through the tiramisu (imported from Italy) that we enjoyed for dessert. Ordered their fried risotto balls, blueberry spinach salad with Parmesan encrusted chicken, and a Siciliana pizza. Everything... was delicious and very good except the pizza was soggy in the middle. If you tried to eat it pizza in hand, your pizza wouldfall apart. Still delicious though. It was my birthday so I was treated to a free dessert. Great way to top off the dinner!Still a fanatic experience for a good price! Read more

Overall our experience was very good. There were a couple minor kitchen issues but nothing major, and certainly nothing that... will keep us from returning. The standout of the meal was the eggplant, which my wife said was cooked perfectly. The tomatobasil sauce was flavorful and the portion was surprisingly stout One thing that should be noted: Isabella’s ambiance isunlike many restaurants in Lynchburg. This was our first time visiting Isabella's but it won't be our last. Atmosphere was great. Dim lighting, not too crowded with... other guests but still cozy. Service was fabulous, as was the food. We ordered an appetizer, 2 entrees,2 desserts and had aglass of house wine. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious!! Read more
