First time at SCL with my friend Derek. Wanted an environment that wasn?t chaotic so we could relax and catch up. SCL had... nothing short of amazing people, fantastic food, wonderful music and just an all around fantastic atmosphere. Ventilation isgreat if you?re worried about cigars(didn?t even notice). Band was great. Service was slow. But nice atmosphere. Management came over to rectify situation; said short staffed! I just... want to add, our server was very personable but if the service had been faster, we would have ordered more drinks and gottenappetizers. We ordered our drinks and then our server didn't come back for quite a while. Some in our party went up to the barto get served. I understand that this is a staffing issue but we would have spent more time and money. Read more

I went to Stray Cats with 3 friends, all of whom were frequent visitors to this bar, I looked at the menu and ordered an Eagle... Rare neat which the liquor menu had listed at $8. After I ordered a second, the waitress explained it was not actually $8 asthe menu said, but if I looked at the fine print on the bottom of the menu, it was actually $19. After trying to reason withthe the waitress, I asked to speak with he owner who basically told me I needed to ignore the menu because they were printedmenus (whatever that means) and I should have looked at the asterisk on the bottom of the menu to know how much the bourbonactually was, even though it clearly stated it was $8. Other bourbons stated "market price", but not this one, so a reasonablyintelligent person would assume the actual price was what was listed on the menu and not some cryptic cause on the bottom of thepage. I have never in all my life run into something so absolutely ridiculous. The owner actually argued with me in front ofall the customers on how the bourbon was much more expensive than what the menu actually said, and put the blame on me for notreading the fine print at the bottom of the menu. What?!?! Nice job Jackie. You just lost 4 customers of life, one of whomspent $500 a week at your bar. We will never step foot in your failing bar again. Read more
