A really great experience. Downtown Grill has a speakeasy vibe to it. Located in an alleyway, you enter the restaurant through... their cigar bar. The service was exemplary. I had Filet with grilled Sea scallops. Both were cooked perfectly. The buttonmushrooms and the cheese grits souffle were delicious. I finished my meal with a Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding drizzled peanutbutter bourbon. It was amazing. Read more

Hard to Find – But Worth It. Hidden in an alley, looking like a speakeasy is a great restaurant and bar. The fried artichoke... starter is not a crispy rendition, rather bathed in an interesting sauce. The duck was cooked just right, as was the filet. The sides are noteworthy: cheese grits, mushrooms, and spinach. The bartender is not only a skilled mixologist, but knows thefood preparation secrets, which he shared with me. We’ll be routing ourselves through Macon whenever possible to eat here. Read more

This place was a great find. It's hidden away in a valley behind the Mulberry street businesses. The restaurant was cute and... cozy and the service was impeccable. I ordered the duck with pesto mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach and my husband got theaged ribeye with the same sides. We ordered the crab cakes they were small but good, they did have a slight fishy taste too thenwhich wasn't great, but didn't completely turn me off. My food was cooked perfectly it was absolutely delicious, I wish I wouldhave gotten more mashed potatoes they were the best I've EVER had. My husband said the aged rib eye was good, but maybe a littlehyped up. But overall the entire experience was great! Read more

The service was the best I've had in a long time and the food was very good. Everything was done perfectly from my drink to the... entree and side dishes. The atmosphere was also nice. This place could be a nice date spot or somewhere you could get a drinkwhile in town for work. I'll definitely be going back. Read more

I am a very cultured person from southern GA and this is the first time I ever felt so offended I got up and left before eating.... This environment did not feel people of color friendly. The owner had the waiter come warn us the price of our top shelf drinkswas $38 per cocktail, before he poured. The way she stuttered through the delivery to two young poc made me cringe. I couldn'tspend a dollar when I knew we ordered two market priced entrees! Not once did we ask the price of anything, so why did he haveher come warn us of the price of some don julio? Read more

One of the higher priced fine dining places in Macon. My medium steak came more medium well the medium, but still tasted good.... I really liked the broccoli it was seasoned and cooked just how I like it, still just a slight crisp to it. Would have beennice to have two sprigs instead of the one they give you. I thought the grit soufflé waffle with shrimp was very tasty. Service was a bit slow, but thats becoming the norm with Covid it seems. It would also be nice if they could move the cigarlounge to upstairs instead of right when you enter. All in all a good experience. Ill be back for sure. Read more

We had Ms. Erica as our server. She was amazing off top. Friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. The best service I have... had in a while. The charcuterie board was nice. The french onion dip was warm and smoky. The crab cakes were not the best butthey were good. The flavor got lost a bit. The bread was nicely toasted on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. We waitedquite a bit for our main entrées. The table behind us came later but got their food first. The Elk was tender and flavorful. The green beans were overly seasoned with black pepper. One set of asparagus were almost mush and cold. The other were cookedperfectly and hot. The Cigar Bar was sweet and aromatic. It was a pleasant smoke smell. Great night! The only issue was parkingand finding the building. It is literally down an alley, so be careful and drive slowly or you will miss it. They do not have aseparate parking just for them. They have a valet but it is tied in with Dovetails restaurant parking. Read more
