This Black Bear Diner, compared to the one I've tried in the Bay Area, is not as ornate. But it still has their signature black... bear sculptures and decorations, and the chair backs that have mountain scenery embroidered on them. It took 10 to get drinks and 15 min to place order. I check my watch. A couple was seated down 20 min later. They place their... order. It took about 25 min to get our order. The couple got there order to. My food was cold. The server pass us 3 time andoffer the others a refilled and not us. We were done eating than she ask if we need a refilled. Read more

The madera location is very hit or miss. I live super close so there?s times where I order through door dash and pick it up.... Some days the food looks super good. Pancakes are thick and fluffy. And then there?s times like this. I paid close to $15 forthis plate and it looks like someone left overs. Door dash will give me a partial refund, but the restaurant themselves won?treplace or remake? Not sure if it just depends on the cook and the time you go. But definitely not worth the money. A definite winner for breakfast... Met up with a buddy and was seated almost immediately. Service was attentive but not pushy. ... Food quality was excellent and portion was huge ( I ordered the Bigfoot breakfast... Chicken fried steak, 3 eggs, hash brownsand 2 biscuits covered in gravy for 15.99!!!). Atmosphere is nice and quiet. We had great waitresses that were following up on us and provided great customer service. We... didn't wait to long to be served. I got the bacon cheeseburger with fries. I loved how juicy the burger was and it wasn't tooheavy. Nice small burger. Chicken was soft and juicy, not too over cooked. Very cute bear decors! We got the California Bacon Bear's Benedict and 2-egg combos with link sausage. The serving size was huge... for the benedict. The food was good. I can't comment on the service because there was a large party before us but everyone wasnice. Read more
