About 20 years ago I was introduced to Greenbrier barbecue and Alabama white sauce for the 1st time. This visit, due to... logistics, was the 1st time I've been back since then and I must say, it's just as good now as it was then. I arrived for anearly lunch and was promptly greeted by a server and sat down. Since it had been a while I wanted to try a sample of everythingso I got the sample platter with pork and chicken. I was served hush puppies as an appetizer and there were a handful of sauceson the table to enjoy them with. Barbecue sauce, Alabama white sauce, tartar sauce and the ketchup. I'm not a huge fan of hushpuppies so I'm usually pretty picky if I do eat them. These were tasty.. Light cooked very well and not greasy. The smokedchicken was beautiful. Perfect crispy skin, beautiful color and with the white sauce it was absolutely amazing. I would comehere just for the chicken. Fries were golden and crispy perfectly done and the pulled pork was moist, tender and delicious. Thelocation is only a few miles off the interstate but well worth the drive. This is just an awesome little diner with really nice people just outside of Huntsville. Perfect spot to divert to on a trip... from Nashville to Birmingham, just a few miles off I65. Great catfish and don?t forget to grab a fried pie. Read more
