Stopped in at 11 pm on a Monday night. There was one young girl waiting tables and running the grill. She immediately let us... know that she would get to us as soon as she could. Not a problem to wait as this girl was doing all she could with no help.Then after waiting about 30 minutes, a young man emerged from the back, we watched him piddle and finger with a trash bag for 15minutes, snickering at the girl doing all the work. He disappeared again shortly after. When we got our food and it cleared outwe asked the girl who the lazy employee was, she said, it was the cook and he doesn?t cook, just makes $14 an hour whilewatching the $2.50hr waitress does his job for him. Made me sick at my stomach to see this young mother working to supportherself and kids doing the cooks job just so she can make her money on the job she was hired to do. Tried the Waffle House on University, near UAH and everyone working there seemed half dead and like they hated life. It was an... unpleasant vibe. Went to this Waffle House today and it was an entirety different experience. The staff were upbeat andfriendly, the service was fast and the food was great. The only negative was that the cleanliness wasn?t quite as good as itcould have been. The guy sitting next to me actually requested the bottle of Lysol and a rag so he could clean his spot. Thewaitress did it for him, but he had to mention it before it got cleaned. My spot had a ring of congealed syrup and I tried toclean it with some napkins, but it tore through and my fingers got all sticky. I would have given them 5 stars if not for thecleanliness issue. There were only three people in a whole place and I understand why now. After ordering something I always order on the meal... T-Bone hash brown scattered smothered double covered chunk. We paid for our meal and it was over 30 bucks. Won't ever go back toWaffle House again was one of my favorite places to eat too expensive now. Read more
Worse Waffle House experience. Cook was outside smoking cigarettes when I arrived no customers inside and took them 20 min to... prepare 1 simple breakfast and still got the order wrong! Go figure. Being next to an airport they need to step their game upand be faster with ticket times. The female that took my order was trying her best while the cook stood outside and smoked. Read more

I've only been to waffle house once before and it was 7 years ago. My wife and I went for dinner and got takeout to bring it... home. Everything was AMAZING. I knew the waffles were great because that's what I had tried before. The waffle I got did notdisappoint. I got biscuits and gravy. It was the very last of the gravy they had that night so it was more thick than usual butit was still good. If the gravy was fresh it would have been incredible. My wife got a chicken hash brown bowl and it wasamazing how good it was. The chicken was tender and seasoned perfectly. Waffle house really surprised us with how good it allwas. We were expecting average breakfast food and we were presently surprised with how good it all was. EDIT: This is one of myfavorite places to eat here now. We haven't eaten in the restaurant yet, but we got food to-go. It's so weird because it's not like all the food was immaculate... and super flavorful, but at the same time it was all SO GOOD. It is the perfect comfort food. I got the grilled chicken melthashbrown bowl and biscuits and gravy. The hasbrown bowl was good, the biscuits were good. I liked the flavor of the gravy, butthe texture was super thick. Thicker than I would like my gravy to be, but I am wondering if it was because it may have been thelast of what they had left at the time. My husband got a waffle and it was so fluffy and sweet. I was completely ignored by the staff from the second I walked in the door to the time that I seated myself because the... employees refused to acknowledge me. I sat at a table for another 10-15 minutes while the staff ignored me until the time Istood up to walk out the door.
