Our reservation was at 5, party of 2, we were seated at a table for 4. At 6:45 we discovered OUR table was going to be combined... with the empty, table for 2 - to accommodate a party of 6. This changed our entire experience. Four adults sat at that table for2 at 6:45. They pulled chairs and were tightly packed behind my husband’s chair. The other 2 guests joining this party, stoodOVER US waiting for our departure. We were on the outdoor patio, in the front of the building- not a lot of space betweentables. The host, SHOULD HAVE mentioned a party of 6 would be arriving AND IF the Table was a TWO HOUR limit - neither of thesewere mentioned. We can only eat as fast as we are Served. Fortunately, I took photos of my entrees, which created aTimeline. Speciality Drink arrived 5:25 Appetizer- Beef Tartare 5:38 Dinner- Cod & Trout 6:12 My Dessert 6:37, then my Husbandgot his Dessert 6:42. I RUSHED TERRIBLY to choke down my delicious dessert, because I couldn’t take another minute of 6 peoplestaring me down WANTING our Table! HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT for a $139.00 dinner that I looked forward to!! SHAME ON THIS PLACE!! Read more

I had an hour to kill in town and stopped in here without a reservation for a couple of drinks. Even though it appeared I was... very underdressed compared to everybody else they fit me in at the bar with no problem. I had a few very well made cocktails. The food being served to others looked great but I did not have any myself. If I had more time and was in the area again I woulddefinitely try this place for a meal. Read more

Bar Bouchee may be the best restaurant in Madison. Maybe Central Southern Connecticut. While their menu has more wine and... drinks than main menu items, the food are authentic French dishes that do not disappoint. The wait staff is amazing. There whenyou want them, invisible when you don't. Their advice on menu items was spot on. We could not have had a better time or meal. Read more

We have been there after shopping at the outlets. First we went to the restaurant near by in a Hilton hotel. After we got... ignored there for some reason, we decided to go to another place and luckily we did. We had the oysters and then the steak. Bothwere extremely good! For dessert we had the Creme brûlée which was also very good. The waiter was extremely friendly. It’sthe perfect place to experience authentic French kitchen. Thank you for that experience! We can highly recommend! Read more

The best restaurant we’ve been to in Connecticut. Despite the usual French posters about absinthe and apéritifs, the room... manages to keep an authentic bistro atmosphere, thanks to typical high chairs/benches (separated with plexiglas panels). Thestaff was super friendly and accommodating, which is the only part that didn’t feel typically French ???? We had the hangersteak with gratin dauphinois, and it was flawless. The steak was actually rare (like we ordered), and tender. The gratin wascreamy, with a touch of garlic. Only the greens were of questionable usefulness in this plate (since they brought more fat thanacidity). We had the chocolate pot de crème for dessert. I expected something good but relatively heavy. It was surprisinglylight (all things considered), and the chocolate was most surely French. We’ll definitely be back! PS: we came with a babyand the owner had arranged a table with more space, so we could keep the stroller with us. Read more

Upscale French bistro with a limited but delicious menu and great serving staff. A large selection of wines by the glass and a... tons of unique-ish cocktails. We had the salmon escalope, beef, and oysters as well as parsnip soup. In my opinion the parsnipsoup should’ve had a bit of pepper or other spice but that’s my personal opinion and I was the only one at the table thatthought that. Read more

A true Parisian "St Germain" French bistro experience in the heart of New England beach country. Wonderful patio and cozy... interior, excellent wine list and a perfect short but exceptional menu. The seared cod was fantastique Read more
