This popped up as one of the best places in Madison, Indiana. We both had pasta? partner had chicken creole pasta, and I had the... chicken Florentine. Both were good but mine was best. Overall a nice dinner. We went around 5:45pm and had to wait for 30 mins. That's not that bad for a beautiful Saturday night. ... Also, they called our cell phone when the table was ready, that was nice. The review of the food was mixed. The cheese/onionsoup that's on the menu had a surprising taste and after a few spoonfuls I was finished, but my wife got the soup of the day,cream of asparagus, and it was fantastic. My wife got the sushi grade tuna, which was reasonably priced at $18, and wasdisappointed, she was ok because of the price, but she felt the tuna was not as advertised. I ordered the special, duck andwild mushroom homemade ravioli and they were wonderful. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. There was a wait for thefood but not terrible considering how busy they were. Overall we will go back. Read more
Absolutely amazing find in this town. Every bite was amazing from the bread to the seared tuna! Our Italian exchange student... gave the pesto a good review. We were in Madison, IN for the annual Madison Ribberfest KCBS BBQ competition and Blues festival Aug 20-21 2021. I grew up in... Madison 1956-1978 and landed in Indianapolis after college. However I go back to Madison frequently. Red on Main is about 1year in. We have to say we are happy there is a mid level quality restaurant with a decent bar and menu. It was over 90degrees and we'd walked all the downtown shops and needed lunch and some cold beers. We got seated immediately at the bar in therear. Great exposed brick walls . Our wait person was all alone due to her colleague calling in sick (too much Friday nightpartying at the Blues concerts on the River!). Any way the lone staff did her best and delivered our beers and food the bestshe could. 5 stars for great food, atmosphere and effort by our wait person. First, Travis was amazing. He made waiting an hour and twenty minutes for food tolerable. We were seated immediately and it... wasn't ever super busy during our visit. The food was good. The portions were HUGE! The Pub Shrooms were very good. The foodarrived HOT. But we were sitting for over an hour after placing the order. Again, Travis was great.
