First time tried El Salvador food. Somewhat similar to what we ate in Ecuador. Ordered steak plate and chicken soup. It took a... little longer for food to come Steak was rather thin than what we expected and little dry. Soup was nice. It had whole oneleg inside the bowl and vegetable. Vegetables and chicken were cooked very well and all of them were so soft and tasty. Sincethey cooked so long soup had all the umami from chicken and veg I stocks and that made soup extra tasty. I love when you go into a restaurant and the server can answer all of your questions without guessing, or high brow thinking... because they know what is going on. El Pulgarcito, is a bit heavy, being a bread based culture but we were not disappointed wehad to drive to Madison to enjoy dinner. Authentic Salvadorian Cuisine!!! The food was great! I went there with my family and we all enjoyed our meal. Everything was... fresh and the servers were kind and attentive! We ordered pupusas, tamales, plantains and empanadas to get a feel for therestaurant as well as horchata. I definitely enjoyed this spot compared to other Salvadorian restaurants. Read more
