Chen's dumplings should be renamed to Chen's Palace of bland. Average tasting dumplings with below average noodles. If the broth... had some seasoning in it it would be called water. I also ordered sticky chicken rice, which was 100% correct. However, itseemed they left out seasoning in the recipe. This place is great if you're allergic to good food. Read more

Got a chance to try something a bit out of the ordinary, but their dining facilities are seriously lacking so it’s only really... a fast food or take out place (with a huge emphasis on the take out part). Decent food, but I found it pretty expensive for thequantities given, the atmosphere of the place, and the fact that most of what they were selling was not substantially betterthan the admittedly high quality frozen bao and dumplings you can buy from H mart or another Asian grocery store. The noodle soup with chicken is fantastically delicious. It's the ultimate comfort food. We enjoy ordering the soup with the... creamy custard buns for dessert. Read more

Crispy chive pancake appetizer tasted as fresh and crispy as the menu describes it, recommend. The pork and chive dumplings were... listed as a customer favorite. Dumplings over steamed but they tasted pretty good. The sliced beef was tendor but lacked pizazz. It's like all the ingredients were there but never blended. Too much chili oil, not enough hot, and what's up with the wholepeanuts? More cilantro stalk than leaf as a garnish. I wanted to find a frying pan and just stir-fry it all together. Throw onsome salt and pepper! GOING TO ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. Something tells me they are worth trying one more time. Read more

Though it’s small, it packs lots of good food. I ordered handmade noodle with beef and was very happy with it.

Nice place. First floor is a little bit lack of space but second floor has big area for seating. Dumplings are very good, hand... pulled noodles are great too. Their soy bean milk is fresh made and tasty, not too sweet. Read more

Don't go here. If you do, it might take me a few minutes longer to get my sweet, sweet dumpling love. Seriously, I don't know... what kind of crazy-entitled people comment here, but this is one of the best hole in the wall authentic Chinese dumplingspecialists I've ever encountered. The soup dumplings were amazing, the pork and chive dumplings are incredible. The shrimpshumai were light and delicious. The barbecue pork bao were tangy-sweet. The online ordering system is fast and simple, and Irecommend it since there are only four tables in this tiny restaurant and there was even folks standing in line for take-out.Order ahead, and you'll want to park on Gilman and enter the back door since there's no parking on State street.
