We drove down last night and enjoyed a delicious fish fry. It was one of the best we've had in awhile. The staff was welcoming... and server very attentive. We really appreciated being able to visit after dinner without feeling like we had to hurry away fromour table. I can't wait to visit again to try some of the other menu items. Read more

Good little restaurant on the outskirts of Madison. Staff was nice. Food was good and delivered hot. Manager/owner was super... nice and chatted with me about my stop. Recommend a visit if you want a little higher end spot to stop. Read more

Seems quality has slipped a bit. One of our dinner rolls was frozen. Dinner was fine, but not fully worth the cost. Our... server was very attentive, and the decor and nautical themed dinning rooms are fun! Read more

Despite the one neutral experience I had at Mariners Inn, after last night I have no desire to return. We arrived for our 7:00... reservation and the hostess said “one moment I just have to clear off a table.” After 15 minutes she came back to let usknow that there still weren’t any tables ready. At dinner, they were out of the side my partner tried to order, and weoverheard another waitress talking about how they were out of certain other menu items. In terms of our main course, my walleyehad well over 10 bones in it. The only saving grace in this experience was our waitress Cameron, who did a wonderful job despitebeing clearly busy. She comped the main course which I did highly appreciate. Overall, a disappointing experience Read more

This used to be a very good restaurant. My wife and I ate there and the wait staff was good but the food was very bad. They said... they have a new cook. My fish was way overcooked and my wife's fish was raw. My wife couldn't eat hers and they would not takeit off our order. We will not go back there again. I am adding to this because we did tell our waitress about the overcookedand undercook fish and her reply was, "We have a new cook." My wife took one bite and that was it. We were surprised they didnot offer to take hers off the bill. I was very hungry and did eat about half of mine even though it was so overcooked it washard. The waitress said it was crispy - it was more than crispy. Read more

Amazing! Outstanding! Extraordinary! Where to begin? With the hot melt-in-your-mouth bread served with SOFT pats of butter (not... unspreadable or concrete like!). Delicious! Then the fish fingers appetizers! Oh my! Delectable! Perfectly seasoned, lightlybreaded, delightfully crispy, superbly flaky! These are an appetizer??!! Absolutely fantastic! We thought about canceling ourorder and just gorging on order after order of these (supplemented with that superb bread! ????)!! Thankfully, we didn't! Theclam chowder was smooth and creamy, seasoned to perfection, with loads of clams and supporting characters (potatoes amongthem!). For dinner we had NY strip, salmon florentine, jumbo shrimp, and a family size plate of hashbrowns. Oh it was all SOgood! Again, everything cooked and seasoned amazingly well (hashbrowns needed salt, but they always do!), excellent flavorcombinations, and all so wonderfully executed. Sara was a great waitress, the hostesses were both delightful, a great invitingand comfortable atmosphere, and truly delicious and enjoyable food from start to finish. What more could you ask for? How abouta beautiful sunset over the water? Oh yeah! It delivered that too!! 5 stars! Two thumbs up (or four for both of us)! We willdefinitely be back! Keep up the great work!! Read more

I would give the service tonight a one or two stars and the food three stars. A place as highly rated as Mariner's, I would... expect five stars. The experience started off awkward. When waiting to be seated (as directed by hostess A), people who did nothave reservations were asked to wait near the bar area (not an issue, just making a visual). We were next to be seated whenhostess B came up and said to us (only us) ,"unless you're next, you need to be way up there (pointing by the bar area)". Weinformed her that we were her next to be seated. She then realized we were on the reservation list and sat us. Once sittingdown, they informed us they were only serving the restaurant week menu (despite it being officially over the day prior), which, okay fine. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer of cheese curds. The cheese curds came out very quickly and were super good. The drinks, took a good 10 minutes. We finally after 15 minutes ordered our food. People at other tables came, sat, ordereddrinks/food and received all items before we did. The waitress came back after 30 minutes (after not refilling my drink andbeing asked twice) to inform us there was a mix up in the kitchen regarding our order (okay, also fine.. mistakes happen). Morediners came, more people were served before us. After an hour of waiting for our dinner to arrive, one of our entrees didn'tcome for another 10 minutes (one piece of salmon). The waitress dropped the steak knife and took 5 minutes to get a new one (andforgot ketchup for fries, twice). When she came back 10 minutes later to ask how the food was, we informed her the steak thatwas asked to be cooked medium rare, was cooked well done (no pink). She said she'd take it back and have it remade. Now, at thispoint, we've been sitting here for over an hour. All the other tables with the same number of people have come and went. Afteranother 10 minutes, the steak came back, even more cooked than the first one. We asked to speak to the manag Read more

Really nice, old school marina-side restaurant! Good food, but not great food. Steak was a touch overcooked (ordered medium... rare) and would have been easier to eat on a larger plate. Read more
