Nothing fancy, but definitely delicious. The biscuits were enormous, soft with good layers inside and really filling! Omlette... was well made, but could have used more salsa. my friend really enjoyed the meatloaf hash, which I've never seen before.Potatoes were ok-- could have used more seasoning, but great with hot sauce. Great little place in a cool section of Madison. I really enjoyed the turkey platter. Big portions and excellent service. I... was torn between the pot roast special and the Monte Cristo. It captures the counter service vibe and had the portions beensmaller, the pie selection looked awesome. They have outdoor seating. Most options are around $15. Read more
Very good! Visiting Madison from Houston for a few days. Came in for a late breakfast. Had the country plate with Egg Whites,... bacon, potatoes and a biscuit. All good! Coffee was fine. Maybe I'd ask they toast the biscuit, since it was a bit cold, but nota world ender by any means. The vegan banana walnut pancakes also really looked! Definitely worth a try! Read more
Monty's is always good and "real" food. They have family dinners to go for about $45. My 2 big eaters LOVE the meatloaf of the... gods, and there is plenty of fresh steamed slightly still crunchy broccoli and smashed potatoes and rolls for me to eat too eventhough I'm a vegetarian. Plenty left over for lunches the next day! Highly recommend! Employees are super nice too. Read more
Really enjoyed the food, the wait staff were very nice. I had a bacon avocado club and would definitely recommend. The couple of... people I ate with enjoyed their food very much. Large serving size, not over priced. Only drawback is it is a bit dirty feelinginside, but not enough to prevent repeat visits. Overall would suggest giving it a try! Read more
Authentic 50s-60s diner atmosphere with traditional brunch and some modern twists. This is my favorite brunch place. Great... outdoor seating during the summer. They also have desserts, beer on tap, and standard cocktails. Food is fantastic. All menuitems are labeled as vegetarian, vegan, or gluten sensitive which makes it really easy for those with dietary restrictions.Solid bottomless coffee (though it is diner and not a boutique coffee place so if you are looking for a fancy pour over orsomething like that, you should let someone else enjoy Monty's). Honestly, I wasn't too impressed. After reading all the raving reviews I was expecting great things. Perhaps it's because I went... for a dinner and got dinner food. Maybe it's better in the morning/ early afternoon hours and with breakfast. The food was OK,not super great. The waitress didn't really check up on us and they were not busy. Tuesday evening, 2/22. We had great service today at monty's, and these banana vegan pancakes were so good I wanted to die. I live on the west side and... just as I was thinking, am I really driving almost a half an hour to get to brunch? Yes. Yes I really am and it was 110% worthit. My friend is not vegan, and what she ate looked amazing, and she still said she wished she had ordered these pancakes whenshe tried mine. (Then I stabbed her hand with my fork.) Come here for brunch and get great vegan pie and shakes and mimosas andtofu scrambles and potatoes and these amazing pancakes. Read more
