We had a mixed bag with our food choices. The saag paneer and garlic naan were solid choices. But our good meals were brought... down by absolutely awful tandoori chicken. We got pieces that were blubbery, unchewable, and not worth eating a second bite of.We left having barely touched our chicken and with stomachaches. Read more

This is ok good Indian food that you can get to your own spice level to order. They they go heavy on the tomato many of the... recipes. I do wish that they had their buffet since it's still advertised that they have a buffet. Even when you eat in thedining, it's confusing because all of the old buffet tables and warming plates are in the dining room. I love having options ata restaurant but this place I feel has too many options on their menu listed, to read through. Their menu is a solid six pageslong in this fancy script. Often it's the same dish repeated in another section for that specific protein, ie curry. Definitelygoing to try some other Indian restaurants in the area before coming back here. Read more

Lamb vindaloo has a severe lack of flavour, which is probably due to it being watered down. But even without the added water it... probably still wouldn't of tasted good. So not impressed at all! Read more

I've had some amazing Indian food in my life and was excited to try this place. My hubby and I ordered the $65 dinner for 2.... The soup had no flavor, the chicken appetizer tasted like chicken strips with some turmeric on them. The shrimp dish was ok.Not much flavor. The lamb and chicken dishes were better. The deserts were just ok. Small amount of food for the cost andjust wasn't that impressed. If covid ever goes away and they bring the buffet back I may give it another try but without thebuffet, we won't go back. Read more

Swagat is one of my go-to restaurants when I'm in Madison. Miss the variety of the buffet, but at least I get to enjoy... leftovers! Last weekend, some family members and I ordered fish pakora, lamb vindaloo, lamb masala, lamb shahi korma, tandoorichicken, a variety of breads, and rasmalai for dessert for lunch. Everything was DEE-LISH-OUS, but I particularly enjoyed thefish pakora and lamb shahi korma. Gave the leftovers to my Madisonian relatives... this time. Read more

BEST ONE!!!! It was a great experience of fine dine and best tastes served on the plate. If you are crossing Madison while you... are on a road trip and want to eat good Indian food, this place is TOP best to dine with. We stopped there while coming backfrom Devils Lake Park trekking and ordered Paneer Kadhai, Malai Kofta and Butter Naan and these items tasted so authentic andfresh. Order came in quicker n hotter. If you love TEA I recommend it to drink one there, it tastes so good. We were impressedby the quality, courtesy and non pricy experience offered by the Swagat team. Read more
