Reviews for The Dive Inn in Madison, WI
Newer bar on the Eastside of Madison. They remodeled the former bar into a great neighborhood bar. Solid tap beer selection.
This place is the best new remodel bar in town. The staff is amazing the people that come in are welcoming and I just really... love this new space. All welcome and inviting! Read more
So. Let?s start with the basics. Decor, drinks and service. 5 star. Small? Ya. But in a good way. But I want to take a sec to... commend the owners on their approach. They don?t have a kitchen. Or likely a food license. Or certainly room to cook. What theydo have is a good relationship with their neighboring places that do. They not only allow but encourage patrons to get foodnearby and bring in. Similarly. Food places nearby (exceptional in their own right) encourage patrons to go there. This is agreat economic Model. It helps that the Dive Inn is great in their own right. I am thrilled at this place, the people, theservice, the drinks. But I am impressed with their approach To the neighborhood as a whole. Cute little place! I wouldn't call it divey, more hipstery than anything but seem to be a lot of neighborhood folks/regulars... there from the bar's past iterations. Jalapeno mule was the special today and it was delightful. You can also bring in food.Only downside that caught us by surprise was that it's cash only - there is an ATM on site but fees are always a bummer! Read more
Cash only, has an ATM on site though. Tap beers, domestic and craft. Great classic cocktails, tiki drinks, and specialty drinks... as well. Frozen pizza available on site as well as bar snacks. Carry in food also welcome. Nicely renovated. Read more
Not exactly sure why the new owners would pay homage to the previous bar, which was one of the worst bars on the east side of... Madison, by referring to the new digs as a Dive. The new renovation and current patrons are the opposite of a dive. Hopefully, the new establishment will be a positive place for the neighborhood. Read more
