Absolutely wonderful little restaurant near the Capitol. I've rarely had such a delightful experience at a restaurant! It was... bright and charming atmosphere, with a variety of seating options- bar, tables, and lots of configurations. Nice art, comfortable chairs and tons of windows looking out at the Capitol and the neighborhood, along with fun music that wasn't toofussy, but was modern enough that my kids could sing along (even if I tried to get them to stop). We were there the day beforeThanksgiving for lunch so it wasn't busy, but I can imagine it would be on different days because it's just such a lovelyspace. They had a coffee bar (pictured) which we all appreciated with a variety of good coffees (including a decent decaf),creams/milks and flavored syrups. We were all over the moon (because we all needed the caffeine, and we didn't have to settlefor just ok coffee). Between us we had pancakes, French toast, the Wisconsin omelet and a Mexican frittata, and each of themwere delicious, including the side greens with my omelet. Not overly fussy, but definitely fresh ingredients and perfectlyseasoned. But the cherry on top of all the other good experiences was the fantastic service we got. The server was running theentire restaurant and he was friendly, professional and funny! I left feeling like I wanted to come back just because I enjoyedhis service- making jokes with my kids and making sure we were taken care of- so much. I've also rarely had such good service, and would absolutely recommend The Post to anyone visiting Madison! I hope you try it and I hope your experience is as great asours was! Read more

Cubano and cheese curds, both excellent, and the dining view was really spectacular.

A terrific spot! I have eaten there 3 separate times now, once with my dad, once with my wife, once with my son. The... atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the place is fairly quiet, it is easy to talk. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Thefood is excellent. And now they have outdoor tables on the sidewalk overlooking the capitol square. Really a great place allaround. I highly recommend it! Read more

Greeted as I walked in. Water and a menu delivered immediately. My breakfast arrived shortly after I ordered. 2 eggs over... medium, 3 crispy slices of bacon, hash browns, and an English muffin - all prepared perfectly. The server, Vishnu, was polite, professional, and attentive even though the restaurant was crowded. Read more

The Post restaurant was one of our favorite parts about staying at the Best Western Premier Park Hotel. The restaurant was open... and bright, with a great menu selection. Our food was delicious for dinner and the following breakfast, as were the beverages. We really loved the view of the capitol building from our giant window. Read more
