I stayed one night a few years ago. The owners where very friendly. I am not sure if they still own it. They made the breakfast... and it was great. The hotel is supposed to be haunted but I saw no problems. I had a beautiful room with a whirlpool tub. Theyhave a great bar, but I watch calories and saved them for breakfast. We went to the Woodbine for Thanksgiving. The food was great. There were a lot of good choices. I understand there is a new... owner and I look forward to returning. I read that they have done some ADA additions. My son in a wheelchair accompanied me. If they have way for him to get to the rooms we would ? love to stay there sometime. Read more

Really loved this hotel! Much better experience than staying in a Motel 6 or the other interstate hotel chain options. This 100+... year old hotel, just of the downtown Madisonville Square, was an amazing throwback to yesteryear. Our room was a little dusty,so a little hard on the allergies, but the unique experience definitely made up for it. Hope to visit again in the future toexperience another of the antique rooms. This place is old and has a lot of great history to it. However I would not ever rate this place as a 4.5 or 5 stars. Holes... in ceiling, wood rot through out, wallpaper falling off, water damage and not clean. No food because they didn’t feel likecooking. The lawn and flower beds are over grown. This place is dirty and smells very bad. I know it is old, there is adifference. They have the AC set at 88 in the rooms. This is Texas. That’s way too hot!
