The staff here are amazing and we?d happily visit again. The baked goods we tried were good but not outstanding. Still a nice... treat to have midway through our travelling day! We had the cinnamon bun and the chocolate donut. The antiques around the shopwere really fun to look at and gave a nice reason to get out of the car and stretch our legs. Read more
I loved that this bakery is laid out like a gift boutique. The multipack bakery items are displayed throughout the shop amongst... tempting giftware items. You can still enjoy the Bakery experience by choosing your personalized selection from thebehind-the-counter display case. I was happy to have also purchased a house blend coffee. Truly a goldmine of goodies. Eat in (or out, on the new patio) or take away, everything we had from the Hidden Goldmine was... scrumptious... Soups, salads, scones, sandwiches, and of course, the sweets: delicious cakes, cookies and the favourite, buttertarts! We couldn't decide between the chocolate quartz cake and the carrot cake and so got both... And even devotees ofchocolate said it was the BEST carrot cake they had ever had! What a hidden Gem in madoc! The service was exceptional and the food was absolutely spectacular! Iced coffees with cream and... agave and a maple balsamic salad greens with roasted pecans and blueberry and feta! The grilled sandwich was roasted red pepperand feta as well as Spinach! So tasty! Fantastic quality food and extremely helpful staff. I am not eating dairy currently and the staff was kind enough to narrow down... the available dairy free treats for me, lots of options! The atmosphere is fantastic, the coffee and tea lattes are perfect andthe treats are delicious! We grabbed a discounted day old bag of cookies and they are better than most fresh ones we?ve had! Afew treats not pictured here because they were gobbled up before a pic could be taken. We stopped on our way home from Ottawaand will make a stop in every time we pass through again! This is worth driving into Madoc for. It is downtown and easy to find. It has a large assortment of baked goods and everything... we tried was delicious. While waiting for your order, take a look around at their large selection of souvenirs and smallhousehold decorations. Read more
