OMG the North Country finally has an amazing restaurant, reminiscent of high-end establishments in urban settings with a humble... hometown vibe. The staff was amazing and the food was local, organic and delicious. The menu is seasonal and partners with localfarms that we know and love. The converted “house” is modern, comfortable and cozy in the winter months. Can’t wait to goback already, the reasonable prices will keep this restaurant busy, so reservations are a must!!! The Blue House exceeded my high expectations this evening. Not only was the food spectacular, but the hospitality, ambiance and... service made it an amazing dinner experience. The wood roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon and cheese curd was the perfect wayto start out the meal and the pot roast was so tender it practically fell apart. The essential comfort food for a coldevening! We also had the beet salad which is always a crowd pleaser, and the Napa cabbage wedge salad that had a nice smokinessto it. The tempura fried squash was AMAZING, the sauce was sweet and spicy and the crunch of the peanuts! Thank you to Chef Joshand Alicia, Jenn, Brad, Greg, Mason, and Aiden for the amazing service! FOLKS!! This place is a MUST!! Stop looking anywhere else for a phenomenal meal & a top notch customer experience! This is your... place! My son and my friend went for brunch. Upon entering we were greeted with a smiling, cheerful hostess. She seated us andwe were served throughout the courses by at least 3 additional waitstaff members- all of which were delightful and catering tous as if we were the only guests in the place! The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious. The coffee was poured in anoversized mug and was compliments of a local coffee maker in Potsdam, NY. Kudos to GOOD COFFEE! Our apps & meals were wow'ingand unlike anything else in the North Country. Every aspect was on point. We will be back! Thank you for going above and beyondto serve us and the community. P.S.-- The Chef's are right there at the exit area to send you off with a warm exit and signs ofsmile and appreciation. Your Mamas raised you right!!! Read more

We stopped for brunch on our way home from visiting my in-law's in the North Country. We'd seen postings of a new farm-to-table... restaurant in Madrid. The building from the outside, appears as an unassuming newly built blue house, just like the namedescribes. Once you enter the barn style door, we were greeted by friendly cooks in a brick oven style kitchen. The inside hasbeen beautifully renovated to a bright, modern, cozy wooden feel with a scenic view of the Grasse River. The friendly hostseated us and a flow of low key informative servers took our order. My husband enjoyed a tasty pork sausage omelet while I wentwith one of my favorites, Eggs Benedict. They provided a few options from BLT, pork sausage or Veggie themed with summerSquash. I opted for bacon. Both had excellent flavor and were beautifully plated. All breads are made in-house too. Wellworth the stop when you are in the area. Read more

Waiting a day to celebrate our anniversary was absolutely worth it because we were fortunate enough to get reservations at the... North Country’s hottest new restaurant! The Blue House finally opened for in person dining and we couldn’t be happier forthem. . The atmosphere is beautiful and understated and classy and relaxed. The food? Let me tell you. Beyond outstanding. Fromthe house made sour cherry lime soda to whipped beet butter French radish sea salt starter with delicious honey wheat bread tothe generous portions of the calamari starter to our main course. Josh got the fire-roasted meatloaf with a potato cake, homemade ketchup, and onion crisps. I had the zucchini rigatoni with homemade pesto and ricotta. . The best part though? Theservice. Walking in the door, you immediately have a front row seat to the main event - Josh and his crew, cooking up a stormwith a beautiful wood-fired oven as the back drop. Alicia and the servers were friendly, super quick, and focused on making theguest experience an unforgettable one. It was a great night and I look forward to many more. . I almost forgot! After all thatfood, we were too full for dessert so we brought home one of Brad’s Chocolate Cakes - layers of chocolate cake, cinnamonwhipped cream, all topped with a chocolate ganache. It’s in my fridge waiting for me and I’m pretty excited about it. . Allthat to say - GO TO THE BLUE HOUSE! It’s amazing. Read more
