You pay more for ambience and location than the food ! Have had much better Mediterranean cuisine !

A good restaurant with a nice lake view. The place was quite spacious, and people working there were really nice. I ordered a... steak and a grilled octopus (together with a kid menu), which were all delicious. It was a bit expensive, but was worth it. Read more

I always read the reviews of a restaurant we are going to try for the first time. Reading the reviews for Bistro Koz the... negative ones mostly focused on the service . Seven of us dined there last night and we a had a delightful experience frombeginning to end. Mary Lou was our waitress and she was spot on with her service. Very friendly and attentive. Her English wasvery good which made up for our bad French. The food was fantastic not an unsatisfied palate in our group. We ordered widevariety of the plates off the menu and everyone tried everything. We have been coming to Magog for 20 years and have tried mostof the restaurants in the area. Bistro Koz will now be a regular stop. Read more

if you're looking for a beautiful setting looking out on Lake Memphrémagog and very good food, the is it. we had delicious... moutabal, (a beet and tahini spread), scallop ceviche (yum!) and a bright fattouche salad. the flavours married well. servicewas a bit slow, but friendly, and we were happy sitting in the shade on a hot summer day. We had a nice time, the food was good and well presented. However, the waitress seemed a little quick when asking a question,... she would not wait until we finished answering her. She would turn back and talk to us while doing something else. Which it wasweird, the restaurant was not full at all. Also, we ordered ginger ale to drink and more than half the glass was simplyice. Otherwise, the food was good. I had the octopus and my husband the bavette. We also ordered appetizzers and they were good. Not a 5-star experience but not terrible either. We could come back and try different dishes on the menu. Read more

The place is great, the food presentation was really nice, but the portions were really small for the main course (usually I... don't eat large portion!). But the main reason for the 3 stars was because of the poor service from the waitress. She seemsupset when we did not order cocktails and after that she was really unpleasant. Read more

I rarely write restaurant reviews, and when I do write them it's usually because I have a positive experience to share, but I... really felt that I need to write a review this time around even though it will have to be negative. We had the tasting menu fordinner recently. The food was good and nicely presented, and the location and view on the patio are great. However, the servicewas terrible and extremely slow. It's too bad because we spend the summers in the townships, and this would have been a placethat we would have loved to go back to when we have family visiting had it not been for the very slow service. You got hefeeling that they just don't know how to run a restaurant this size on a busy evening. It was so slow that we didn't wait forthe last course of the tasting menu (the dessert) because we had already waited so long for the previous courses. We literallyasked for the bill, paid and got up and left without bothering to wait any longer for the last course that was included in thetasting menu. It was ridiculous. Worse, the server didn't even seem to care that we were paying and getting up and leavingwithout finishing the meal we paid for because the service was so bad. We love to try many different restaurants wherever we go,and we are very experienced restaurant goers who have tried everything from the simplest burger joints and crab shacks all theway to some of the most sophisticated, acclaimed and expensive restaurants in North America and in Europe. We have not seenanything like this in a very long time, no matter the location, category, or price level of the restaurant. Finally, therestrooms need to be better cleaned and maintained. They looked like public restrooms typically look in public places whereanyone can walk in to use the restrooms (not just customers of a specific business), where there are high volumes of peopleusing the restrooms, and where nobody feels responsible for making sure that the restrooms are kept clean and tidy thr Read more

5 star for cleanliness, location with the beautiful view from the upper terrasse. We shared the tasting plate for 2 (cold, hot,... dessert). Ridiculously small portions, lacking taste, stale pita, underseasoned and the hot meal was served luke warm(comparable to food kept warm under a heat lamp). Thankfully we could be distracted by the view, the good wine and they didfinish off with tasty sherbet although they could have at least put a scoop of the two flavours in each bowl instead to 1) helpfill people up and 2) to prevent the awkwardness of trying to share icecream. I know it's hard to have a resto these days giventhe rising costs but this approach won't make repeat customers. You have a beautiful renovated location, now focus on improvingthe food or tell me what we should have ordered instead. Read more
