Have been here a quite a few times always for dinner. The food was very good. The drinks were good as well. The service was a... little slow which the waiter apologized about. There is a bar separate from the dining room which a couple of tvs. My only realnegative is that it is way too loud in there. You have to almost yell just to the person across the table. Our second time at Char and an absolutely amazing experience times two. We had the same server, Michael, both times. He is the... most professional, attentive, and friendliest server (definitely request him). The food and drinks were fantastic. The ambianceperfect. I had zero expectations coming in here. Some family friends invited us. The service started off great. The waitress was loud and... clear, in a good way. But once she got our orders, that was it. She disappeared. Appetizers and first round of drinks arrivedtimely. Second round of drinks was slow. Main course was even slower. By the time it arrived, we weren’t hungry. My girlfriendand I had ordered the highly recommended tomahawk steak special for two. It was huge. So it was hugely disappointing to take abite and find it had zero flavor. It was also super fatty and hard to cut. I’m no steak expert so I’m not sure what theproblem was, but I can safely say it was one of the worst steaks I’ve had in my life. My girlfriend said her steak at OutbackSteakhouse was 10x better. When we brought it up with the owner or manager or whoever was in the pink shirt, he shrugged it off.That’s life. Like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get. Except this was a $150 steak. Ouch. Theirattempt to make it up to us was free desert, which we didn’t have the appetite for anyway. Excellent place for a nice dinner. I've been there for my third time now. And have not yet been disappointed the food is great... and the prices are good. A great steakhouse with plenty other options. We had a filet mignon we were able to cut with ourbutter knife , and a salmon that just delicious. The sides were on the same high quality as the entree . Only thing I don't likeis the parking lot. It's way to small and cramped for the amount if buissness they do. It's a pain to find parking whenever Igo but the food and service make up for it. I'll definitely be back Read more
I was here last night for the first time. I had a classic steak with French fries and creamed spinach. It was cooked exactly... the way I wanted it. The fried calamari were huge and crispy. Everything across the board was excellent. Our server was veryfriendly but I forgot her name, she looked like Mika Kunis haha. Joey the owner is an excellent host. We've enjoyed Char Steakhouse as a favorite dinner and brunch spot for years... but hosting an event there last night took our... great experience to a whole new level! Private party on the patio, tables configured to our guests, and we were invited in earlyto decorate. The food, as always, was superb... and the wait staff (also as always!) just amazing. Visited from Albany for a friend’s birthday. We were seated quickly and ordered drinks. The cocktails were excellent! Dinner... took a while to come, but that may have been because it was clear we were enjoying ourselves and catching up; in any event, Iappreciate when food isn’t rushed to the table, giving people time to chat and enjoy their appetizers. The entrées weredelicious and meat temps were spot on! Desserts (and dessert drinks) were equally delicious. My one minor gripe was that wearrived a little early and wanted to order an appetizer as we waited, but were told that we could not order an app early; theentire order had to go in at once. I had just never been told no to ordering an app before, but I’ll assume it was because thekitchen was busy.
