Worth it for the views alone. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. Eggs Benedict was delicious, the... hollandaise had a lemon zing which I really liked. The potatoes were crispy and just enough seasoning. Had a great Caesar aswell. Would have given 5, but one of my poached eggs was overcooked and it took awhile to get our drinks. Limited breakfastmenu, so would have gone at brunch instead. Overall... recommend and we'll be back. Returned with some visitors to the island. Tried the Spaetzle. Good, but the Benny is better. Our friends enjoyed their meals, and the service was very good. Read more

Since it reopened years ago under it's current management, we have been regular visitors to the Villa and Alpina. We have got... to know Cindy, Jack and their team and are treated to deluxe service and excellent meals every time we dine/stay there. It hasbecome our go-to place for special occasions - birthdays, Mother's or Father's day, entertaining guests etc. They offerbreakfast, lunch and dinner and brunch on weekends. The regular menus have an excellent variety of dishes - meat, fish andveggie options. The desserts are superb. They also have theme dinners e.g. the German BBQ on Father's Day (see photos). Whenwe stay there, Cindy makes sure we have a lovely stay. Jack, who runs the kitchen and bar, is amazing - always ready to whip upa cocktail ad hoc depending on your tastes. I can't say enough about this place. We are never disappointed. Read more

We sat right next the window where we could see the water in the valley. The view was breathtaking and I could not stop looking... outside while I was eating there. We ordered seared scallops and braised short rib for dinner. We enjoyed both of them, but whatreally stood out was bread! It looked a bit burnt outside, but the slight burnt gave deep flavor and both my husband and I lovedit so much :) I cannot wait to go back there for another anniversary and try other food. Seafood pasta looked (smelled) reallygood! Read more

Where I'm from, it's rare for restaurants to have both great food and great views, so naturally I was very excited to try out... the Alpina Restaurant during my stay at Villa Eyrie Resort. For us, the restaurant certainly lived up to its reputation???? The food was very well balanced and flavorful. I was told that the spaghetti aglio e olio would be "a little spicy" andwhile it did have spices in it, it wasn't overly hot, and I could imagine that even people who don't like traditional spicy foodwould like that dish. Additionally, the service was top notch. We luckily got seats with great views each time we visited, butwe observed the waitstaff going above and beyond to move other people to the seats they wanted. Mediocre at best. Took my family here for Easter supper. Service was incredibly slow. Food was just ok! Think my bill was just... over 300$ this place had a great view great lay out but missing something. If I want to fine dine you would think it would be $well spent but here they can?t even cook a steak pics will be posted. I gave a second star based upon the plated food not forhow it tasted but how it looked, Presentation looks great. Beautiful views. As a follow up review this is so typical of arestaurant to say we have no booking for you! That?s ok it was booked under my wife?s name. Every time I send an email in theynever get looked at when I experience bad food. Non the less here my 2 star review stands. Maybe In the future I will try itagain but not anytime soon that?s for sure. Read more

Restaurant staff told us the chef is a little sensitive to feedback - he has a reputation for serving bread with burnt crust... despite it being a common complaint amongst customers. Staff words, not mine! Wow lol Out of fear of a possible angry chefcoming at us, we washed the bread down with wine! When we asked for more butter, he totally passive aggressively served us coldbutter that isn?t particularly spreadable ???? I can see why he has an ego though - the mushroom ravioli was legitimately thebest pasta we?ve ever eaten in our lives. We actually had to order a second helping. This is a great place to go for pasta, just skip the bread. The chef has undeniable talent, worthy of stepping on eggshells to enjoy his cooking. Again, hard pass onthe bread and you?ll be golden. I have to start off by saying I never give 5 stars for a place I visit once because I think that comes from consistency but this... place just blew me away! Everything was amazing! The waitress was honest and gave really good suggestions. The bartender was thesame an extremely fun person! The food was just A class, I would say probably the best food I have had in BC in the last 10years, the rigatoni was OMG the sauce was beautiful the beef just melted in your mouth. The Gnocchi was great with a beautifulbalance of flavours. The desserts was just magic specially the pistachio cakes! Make sure you go here if you are staying atVilla Eyrie! Thank you to the chef and the staff! Read more
